Make your vegetarian sweetheart swoon with a romantic dinner for two at Mana Food Bar (1742 W. Division). Unique due to it’s adventurous foray into several different ethnically inspired cuisines, Mana Food Bar offers small plate foods for sharing (very romantic), or large plates if you and your significant other have varying tastes. Cold plate offerings include Mediterranean-inspired marinated chickpeas, quinoa, Asian-inspired seaweed and cucumber, and maki vegetables. Italian influenced lasagna and tomato pumpkin ravioli are rich selections available among the noodle plates. And included in the hot plate offerings is gourmet baked goat cheese and a blue cheese with caramelized onions tart. Go Asian with the Bulgogi (seared tofu with shitake mushrooms), or a cauliflower curry over brown rice. Let the southern-inspired sweet potato pancake with apple cranberry chutney entice you, or cry out Opa! As you order the Greek-inspired spanikopita. Having a difficult time deciding between what sort of taste journey you want to take? Stick with the small plates and share with your date so you get a little taste of everything.

Mana Food Bar also serves a beautiful selection of sake cocktails and chilled sake as well as wine, beer, smoothies and other beverages. The warmly decorated, nature-inspired interior is a bit small, and Mana Food Bar does not take reservations, so plan ahead and be prepared to wait a little longer on Valentine’s Day weekend. However, they do allow ordering to go (pick up only) if you wish to have a romantic vegetarian dinner at home.
