Maryland VegWeek, a week-long celebration encouraging people to explore the benefits of vegetarian eating, kicked off this past Saturday with a party in Takoma Park. Special guests at the launch included Congresswoman Edwards, Senator Raskin, Delegate Hucker, Delegate Gilchrist, and Mont. County Council Member Valerie Ervin, all of whom made public pledges to choose vegetarian foods for the week.
This outreach campaign, organized by Compassion Over Killing, includes a special event each day of the week as well as discounts or special veg-friendly menus at more than a dozen participating restaurants, listed below. These offers are only available during Maryland VegWeek, from April 24-30. More information is available at MarylandVegWeek.com.

i just have to say that the veggie beef shawarmas at middle east cuisine are AMAZING! i hope they continue to offer those because i would definitely keep buying them. thanks for sharing this info!
will that middle eastern place still make veggie beef shwarmas after vegweek is over? or was that just a one time thing -- i didn't get a chance to try it but all my friends raved about it! PLEASE tell me they still make them
