Rosh Hashanah, often referred to as the "Jewish New Year" begins tonight at sundown. Here are a few culinary traditions and vegan recipes to help celebrate Rosh Hashanah.
Vegan-Friendly Rosh Hashanah Traditions:
On the first day of Rosh Hashanah, a piece of apple is dipped into honey in the hopes of a sweet year. Try substituting agave nectar, brown rice syrup or pure maple syrup in place of the honey. Additionally, various symbolic foods such as dates, pumpkins, leeks, beets and pomegrates are enjoyed during the second day of Rosh Hashanah.
