The SyFy Channel is working on a remake of the British television series, Being Human. Being Human is currently a hit supernatural show on BBC.

The series tells the story of 3 twenty something roommates who are trying to live a normal life despite being a vampire, werewolf, and ghost.  Aidan Turner, plays Mithcell, the vampire.  Russell Tovey , plays George the werewolf, and Lenora Crichlow y plays Annie the ghost..

The current BBC show just completed it's second season (or series as they call seasons in England). The show has been renewed for a third season and will be moving from Bristol to Wales.

The American remake is to star Sam Witwer, as the vampire Aidan, Meaghan Rath as the ghost Molly, and Sam Huntington, as the werewolf Josh.

There is no word on a date or setting for the American remake.

Being Human  will air on the Lexington Insight  SyFy Channel. Season 1 DVD is available at the Hamburg Pavillion Barnes and Noble.

So Lexington, have you watched the original version of the Being Human series? If so what do you think of an American remake?

With the characters being vampires, ghosts, and werewolves- which do you think would be showcased more on the Lexington channel? Do you think the American writers will give into the popularity of the vampire or allow an equal showing of all three characters?

Say it isn't so! The series is delightful as it is. I love the British feel to the show and the characters. I'm American, and I love shows like Being Human, Skins and Coupling because they are uniquely British. as a long time Python fan, I hope no one ever gets the idea of re-doing them.

I agree Denise. I love British shows. I am a big Torchwood, Dr. Who fan as well. Wen I went to England last month I kept looking for things related to the shows.

I don't know if I will watch it.

My fav character on the show is Annie. Who is yours?

I only have one question. Why redo something that's already great? Makes no sense.

PLEASE, America, stop remaking British series and get a creative bone.

    W.J. and Cathy,

I totally agree. I am American but enjoy British television because it's British. I love the quirky humor, the accents, and the culture.

I know they are probably doing this because the originals can't air here- other than reruns but still - go buy the DVD - not influence them to Americanize it-

I honestly may watch it to see how bad it will be but I won't be a solid follower

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

They will suck it out (and not in the good way). SyFy's record is extremely spotty even when they are doing American material, let alone re-inventing something British. Ugh.

I agree with everybody. You just can't translate the British quirkiness. Have you ever seen the BBC promotion on the DVDs? They are the funniest commercials. You can't get away with stuff like that here. However,I will watch both versions, just because that is what I do.
