Interview
Q: What book inspired you to begin writing? How did you choose these characters?
A.Beowulf has been one of my favorite books for some time. The adventure and battles intrigued me. I have enjoyed writing since I was in my teen and as a result have written many short stories and poems. Lifeless came to me in the form of a dream in which everything was so vivid, the scenery, the characters, all of it.
Q. When did you decide writing was going to be your career?
A. Well, right now it's not a career. I am just getting started and love storytelling. I am mostly concentrating on finishing college for now and writing on the side.
Q. How do you get the ideas for your books?
A. Most ideas come to me after spending time with my wife Amber she is my muse. Some ideas come from listening to an inspirational or emotional song that I am listening to at the time.
Lifeless came from an idea that I had for a Viking story. I began writing it and then thought wouldn't this be great with vampires and werewolves thrown into the mix. Then the story came though it was a nightmare at the time.
I am also a fan of the classic vampire stories and films and drew from there as well. These vampires would simply show up and start to terrorize the locals.
Q. What are your plans for Lifeless- is it going to be a continuing series?
I am close to completion on the second book titled Immortal Burden. It picks up where Lifeless leaves off while introducing the first vampire Joshua and the first werewolf called Torin.
Thank you Paul for doing the interview and I look forward to local book signings.
Paul can be found at his website or at his Facebook FanPage here.
