With all the movies being remade today including Nightmare on Elm Street and Pet Sematary,  the teens that grew up in the 80's will be glad to see a remake of the comedy/horror film Fright Night.

Fright Night is an 80's teen vampire flick that became a huge hit among viewers of that generation. Charlie Brewster is a teenager who is a horror fan who believes that his new neighbor is a vampire. Charlie, his best friend - "Evil" Ed and his girl friend Amy enlist the help of a retired actor who played a vampire slayer in movies played by Roddy McDowell. Chris Sarandon plays Jerry Dandridge, a very good looking vampire who has strong powers of seduction. The movie was such a hit it garnered a sequel. The film was the second highest grossing horror film next to Nightmare on Elm Street 2.

DreamWorks has prepared the following team:

A release date has not been set yet.

So well do you think they will remake this film? Do remakes do the movie justice?

With all the remake frenzy does anyone have any news as to what vampire film will be remade next?

It makes me feel old when they say they are going to remake a "classic" and it is a movie I went to the theatre to see!

Tim Burton is remaking Dark Shadows in 2011 - that's the one I'm waiting for. I can't get over the increase in the vampire genre since the Twilight saga was released. I've been a HUGE vampire fan since the late 60s when I first started watching Dark Shadows!

Do they dare to temper with a classic? Who will play the Roddy McDowell part?

it doesn't need to be "remade". hollywood needs to go to the writers instead of raping the 80's (as has been the trend as of late.)
