According to a World Net Daily article, Lord Christopher Monckton says that the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen on December 7-18 has as one of its main goals the establishment of a one-world government with climate change as merely a pretext for this new system.
Monckton was a science adviser for British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. He spoke at Bethel University in St. Paul this week, where he delivered this message. He said that America and other wealthy western countries will have to give money to poorer, less developed countries to pay for the amount of carbon dioxide we've released. We have damaged the environment, and they have not. He added that "there is no problem with the climate and, even if there were, an economic treaty does nothing to [help] it."
The entire lecture lasted approximately an hour and a half. The entire video is available online. For those of you who do not have an hour and a half, the following video is a 4-minute clip from the lecture, but the main idea is contained therein.

Anyone who thinks "less developed countries" do less damage to the environment is living in a bubble. It's a handy way to guilt people into accepting a reduction in their standard of living.
