Well, it did not take long for Tim Floyd to find new employment.
Floyd recently resurfaced after a bizarre video showed up on YouTube, which displayed the former Trojans' head basketball coach trying to break up a casino brawl among a bunch of aggravated women.
Now, Floyd has made the news for an entirely different reason.
While he will not be assuming a head coaching position, the former Southern California men's basketball coach will be an assistant coach for the New Orleans Hornets.
The Hornets shook things up today with the firing of its own embattled head coach, Byron Scott, after starting the season 3-6.
New Orleans' 20 point loss to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night appears to have been the tipping point that forced the Hornets' front office to remove Scott.
General manager Jeff Bower replaced Byron Scott as head coach of the Hornets and moved quickly to hire Tim Floyd as an assistant on his staff.
It will be a second stint with the New Orleans franchise for Floyd, who was the head coach on a Hornets team that went 41-41 during the 2003-2004 season.
The hiring follows a tumultuous summer for Floyd, who resigned from his position as head coach of the Southern California men's basketball team after he was accused of giving money to a man connected with former Trojans' guard and current member of the Memphis Grizzlies, O.J. Mayo.
Before the video of the casino brawl surfaced, Floyd had been keeping a low profile.
A fresh start with the New Orleans Hornets might be just what Floyd needs to rejuvenate a career that appeared to crash and burn this past summer.
