Dick Cheney's secret CIA assassination squad: What's the big deal?

What's all the racket about Cheney's secret CIA assassination squad? Most educated people know that the CIA has been involved in fomenting terrorism, assassination of political leaders, and lots more almost from its inception back in 1947. It's hard to believe most media reports are claiming this particular program to assassinate Al Qaeda leaders was never operational.

Dick Cheney was simply continuing a long-standing CIA tradition. As to why he was keeping this project secret from Congress, I suspect there is a deeper reason we have yet to learn. Why would Congress members have objected to a CIA program whose main aim was only to assassinate Al Qaeda leaders? The vast majority of Americans would probably have supported such a program. What's the deeper agenda with all of this?

For those who have any doubt that the CIA is involved in assassinations, there is plenty of solid evidence through the years. Declassified CIA documents which anyone can easily order using the Freedom of Information Act show that the CIA was training young women under hypnosis to act as terrorists and assassins back in the early 1950s. Read the highly revealing article at this link for more. To read scanned copies of the released CIA documents showing this, click here and click here.

Moving on a few decades, a revealing 1988 video of Bill Moyers discussing the secret government and the often irresponsible actions of the CIA in torturing and assassinating even democratically elected heads of state, watch below. Though this 22-minute video was made over 20 years ago, you will see that it is almost certainly as true today as ever.

If you want to go even deeper, watch the powerful 45-minute Turner Home Entertainment video Secrets of the CIA, which follows several CIA agents who were personally involved in spreading terrorism, assassinations, and more at this link.

The CIA was not the only branch of government involved in this. Read the declassified Pentagon documents referring to Operation Northwoods in 1962 at this link. The top generals at the Pentagon all signed off on these plans to fabricate terrorism in Miami and Washington, DC, in order to create a pretext for war with Cuba. The fact the innocent civilians would be killed was of no consequence.

Assassination was supposedly outlawed in 1976, yet both Bushes and Clinton were involved in "targeted killing" of enemies. Even Obama continues to sidestep American law by saying the U.S. is at war, and thus may target and kill "enemy combatants." But Congress never declared war.

As the discussion heats up about Cheney's secret CIA assassination group, let's use this as an opportunity to inform and educate others about government-sponsored terrorism. It's time that the media blackout on this crucial topic be lifted and the public be informed.

The box immediately below provides several ideas on what you can do to educate yourself and others, and to spread the word. We also invite you to comment below and let us know what you think. Should any branch of government be involved in assassinations? If so, under what circumstances?

What's the big deal, indeed? It's unfortunate nobody assassinated Cheney before he caused all the needless deaths and damage that he inflicted.

Well said, Fred; thank you. As Tacitus wrote in Agricola:
"Because they didn't know better, they called it 'civiliazation' when it was part of their slavery."

You are pretty much one of the left-wing "blame America first" nutjobs. Of course, Cheney could never be responding to a group of terrorists that are trying to kill our people and way of life. No, of course he is simply an evil man trying to spread terrorism. Yeah.

It is much easier when you don't analyze the real issues and just set up this straw-man position for people you disagree with.

BTW, terrorists are most offended by our liberal way of life, and want us out of their lives because they feel we are spreading it to their people...(eg. Iran). It is our VALUES they hate most, not our military, people, or products.
