The Saints Parade is live, beginning at 5:00 p.m. CT, 6:00 p.m. ET, and is streaming live online. New Orleans is partying, as this marks the first win for the Saints. For a city that has undergone enormous tragedy, the win is hailed with celebratory spirit and elated mood. There is no doubt that many across the nation rejoice with New Orleans in their victory.
As the world watches as New Orleans demonstrates how to throw a Super Bowl party, many are in their homes celebrating in New Orleans fashion as well. Fans who may have relocated are buzzing on the Internet through sites such as Twitter and Facebook sharing their excitement. One woman posted that she was making Jambalaya because a Super Bowl party, Louisiana style just wouldn’t be the same without it.
The parade begins at Poydras Street at LaSalle, and will travel through the business district and convenes at the Convention Center. It is expected that more than 50,000 loyal and dedicated fans will be in attendance, hoping to catch beads and possibly speak with some of their superstar football heroes. The Lombardi Trophy will be proudly displayed as the parade floats make their way along St. Charles Avenue.
The Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17.
