Tim Tebow is a Christian athlete who boldly proclaims his faith. This week, he wore Hebrews 12: 1-2 on his eye black. The verses have now caused countless fans to rush to their Bible’s and search the meaning of the Scriptures. For someone who is trying to profess their faith, Tim Tebow scores as he has fans opening their Bibles, many for the first time.
Hebrews 12: 1-2 states, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
The passage is often used for encouragement when there are great tasks at hand, as it continually reminds believers to focus on the race before them. Though the author, Paul intended for the Scripture to mean focusing on living a life of faith, and one that is pleasing and acceptable to Jesus Christ, it seems that Tim Tebow is quoting the Scripture for encouragement throughout the game. Regardless of the intent, the Scripture is one that encourages believers to stay steadfast on their mission and to keep their eyes focused on the prize, and to win the race that they’ve been given, often with patience and endurance.
The Scripture, Hebrews 12: 1-2 also focuses on Jesus Christ as the Author and Finisher of the faith, stating that he endured the cross and crucifixion and rose from the dead, victorious. All Christians are to follow Christ’s footsteps and run the race that they’ve been given, from the task at hand to the ultimate goal of living in eternity with Christ.
When it comes to Tim Tebow, there is no doubt: that whether on the field or in his life for Christ, Tim Tebow scores.

I believe the scripture on his eyeblack was Heb 12:12. "Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and week knees."
God is not only a disciplining parent but also a demanding coach who pushes us to our limits and requires our lives to be disciplined... Non the less Tim Tebow scores with when he boldly proclaims his faith!
Amen!
tim tebow is so phony what a joke it will sure be nice to not have to deal with his phony crap anymore
I am encouraged every time I read the scripture verses worn by Tim Tebow! Praying that in all things Tim would continue to seek His kingdom first. May God bless you Tim Tebow!

Clint it right. It's Hebrews 12:12 - strenghten your feeble arms and weak knees.
Great role model for us all, especially today's young folks!!
