Michael Jackson’s public memorial is scheduled for Tuesday, July 7 at 10 a.m. PT at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Due to the anticipated overwhelming demand for tickets, those who register on the Staples Center’s Web site will have their names drawn and will be notified between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday if their names are chosen for free tickets.

Organizers of the memorial will draw 8,750 names and those people will receive two tickets each and wristbands on Monday.
According to the Los Angeles times, those without proper security identification or tickets will not be allowed within the following boundaries: Flower Street to the east, Olympic Boulevard on the north, Pico Boulevard to the south and Blaine Street to the west, which is one street west of the Harbor Freeway.

I fell in love with Michael very young, I wanted to marry him.I am only 21 so i may sound young but I am a true fan and always defended him. I was made fun of at school cause I would admit to being a fan. I never cared what other thought, Michael created real music, it was never about sex it was about the truth...he made music. I studies singing and dance because of him. I ill continue to defend and love Michael Jackson. My mother does not want me to go to the concert but my entire life i have been told what to do and I do it. Not this time, I hope to get tickets and pay my respect to the man who changed my life and is the reason I am the person I am today.

I am just so upset about this. I need him, he always made me smile by listening to his music. I am so glad I lived to know about Michael Jackson. It truly is an honor and a blessing to have listened to his music, heart and soul. my heart aches just thinking he is gone. I just know he is in a place where nobody can hurt him anymore, his soul is in a place people will love him and not judge him. he was such a kind person people were just ignorant. People who are nice and kind and genuine do exist....and he was that person. he was an angel.

Michael Jackson and his AMAZING music will be missed. My 9 and 5 year old sons thought he was a "new" artist; I had to break out all of "my" MJ "albums" and cds.

I just want to say that I always loved and appreciated Michael. I also want to say that people were always ridiculing and making fun of him. He was the butt of everyone's cruel jokes. No one cared about him until he died. I truly believe that 10 % of his depression was due to his father's abuse, and the other 90% was due to the general public's abuse, which later resulted in his death. My mother use to always say to give a person their flowers when they are alive to smell them, not when they are dead. People should have loved Michael and showed him a lot more kindness when he was alive. Now, its just too late because Michael is not here to receive the love and kindness he should've received in life.

Michael I am so sorry that you have passed away. I never believed you were guilty of the things you were accused of. I pray you will be forgiven for your sins because I feel that you were in Hell here on earth, when so many believed you were wicked and evil. This is the year of true CHANGE. We witnessed the Inaugural Ceremony of the first African American President of the USA, Barack Obama and have our first African American First Lady in the Whitehouse. This World victory came about much due to changing attitudes of people in America. Our youth decuded to follow their hearts and not the dictates of many who hate. For years they have played together, loved one another and married each other. They sing, dance, work and even die together. Adults of all ages took a good look at "The Man in The Mirror" and asked him/her to "Change your ways." They saw that the rest of the World was leaving them and their racially prejudiced attitudes behind. Michael challenged us to change our ways. I'm glad that he lived to see America do it. You see Michael kept to what God wanted; us to come as little children. There is yet time to become as a little child. A child don't hold grudges long, is forgiving and loving. In SPIRIT become children. RIP

I was 5 year old when i first saw michale jackson, at the Atlanta Braves Baseball Field. I always dance for my father and mother,and family to his song ABC, every time my family come to see use they always put 25 cent in my father music box so they can see me dance to the ABC song,all you can see is my head and feet jumping and slideing across the floor. I will ask my father do you like that dad he will always say yes my baby girl. My father told me that will be going to see michael jackson, i jump across the floor again, but the catch was i had to sit out side with him in line for 11 hours so we could get the tickets. My mother said we was crazy, but we had to do it. My mother brought food and water to us every 2 hour we had a tent and heat. I was so happy to see MJ, i was 4 rows from the stage. Michael my kids and i will always love you. Rest in Peace, you will always be the KING OF POP AND ROCK.... Love so much jousha & Rontarius & Michael & PJ, now they will leave you alone MJ....
