Slideshow: Golden Globe Nominations (photos, video)

The 67th annual Golden Globe Nominations were announced today listing the nominees in 25 categories. The nominations saw some many firsts and several films, television shows, actors, and actresses have made impressive distinctions.

The Fox series, GLEE was nominated for four Golden Globes, the film Up In The Air was nominated for six, Nine was nominated for 5 and Avatar and Inglorious Basterds were nominate for four Golden Globes. HBO was the big winner with a total of 17 nominations, followed by Fox which had 6. The Weinstein Company, a motion picture distributor, saw a whopping 12 nominations while Warner Brothers Pictures followed with 9.

The greatest surprise, however, may be Meryl Streep who was nominated twice in the same category: Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture (musical or comedy). Meryl Streep is no stranger to awards being the most nominated Actress in both Golden Globes and Oscars. This year she was nominated for her work in Julie & Julia as well as It’s Complicated. Meryl Streep’s odds of winning are increased as she is competing against herself, Sandra Bullock, Mario Cotillard, and Julia Roberts.
