Republican Senator Paul Stanley of Memphis, Tennessee, quit after an extortion scheme revealed that the 47 year old, married father of two was having a sexual relationship with a 22-year-old intern, McKensie Morrison. Paul Stanley will vacate his state Senate seat on August 10, 2009. The alleged extortionist was McKensie Morrison’s boyfriend, Joel Palmer Watts.

Joel Palmer Watts, 27, allegedly sent a text message to Paul Stanley on April 8, 2009 that read, “Good morning sir, how are you this fine day? McKensie and I have been talking and I feel that I have a video and some pictures you might be interested in seeing. This is her boyfriend, that guy you met outside Walgreens."

According to the affidavit in the extortion case, Joel Watts was in a relationship with McKensie Morrison, when he discovered that she had been in a sexual relationship with Paul Stanley. Joel Watts then discovered a computer memory disk that had explicit photos, some nude, of McKensie Morrison. The photos were taken in an apartment, and appeared to be Paul Stanley’s apartment. Watts sent the first text message to Stanley on April 8, 2009, and demanded $10,000 in exchange for the photos. Watts threatened Stanley that if he did not receive the $10,000, he would hand the photos over to the media. Paul Stanley responded by contacting the TBI for help.

Working with TBI, Paul Stanley arranged to meet Watts on April 9, 2009. The meeting took place at a Mexican restaurant, Ray Azteca, in Whites Creek, Tennessee. The exchange took place and TBI agents took Watts into custody.

Stanley originally planned to retain his seat, but after increasing pressure from GOP leaders, he resigned. In his resignation letter he stated, “Due to recent events, I have decided to focus my full attention on my family and resign my Senate seat effective August 10."

April 9, 2009: Stanley campaign account pays big $$$ for "computer work"

Do you suppose that the attorney representing Joel Watts will be looking into why Senator Stanley was spending $833.34 from his campaign account to pay for unspecified "COMPUTER WORK" the very same day that Watts was set up by the TBI for arrest (one can buy a new laptop for less than that amount of money)...?

This is another example of a person in government thinking they are above the morals and laws of this country when it is liberty and justice for all, no discrimination. Get rid of them all and start with people that are for the people of the U.S. and not just out for themselves and their party. I never see anyone forgiven in a court of law and I hope he is not forgiven in the public or his family.
It is time these people live like the rest of us under the laws they pass.

I have known McKensie for several years, as her grandmother was married to my father in Ohio, and as an older figure in her background, I know that she is too intelligent to screw up her life like this--I am shcoked and apalled by the immoral behavior on both their parts!
