Reports state that Tiger Woods offered Rachel Uchitel hush money: press conference cancelled

Did Tiger Woods offer Rachel Uchitel hush money to cancel press conference?

Rachel Uchitel gets into a car in front of her home in New York, Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009. The National Enquirer published a story alleging that golfer Tiger Woods, who was involved in a car accident near his home on Friday, had been seeing the New York night club hostess, and that they recently were together in Melbourne, where Woods competed in the Australian Masters. Uchitel denied having an affair with Woods when contacted by the Associated Press. (AP Photo/Afton Almaraz)

The press conference never began and reports from Radar Online state they know why: $1,000,000 in hush money. Radar exclusively reports their sources as stating that at the last minute Tiger Woods reps bombarded reps for Rachel, offering the money to not go public with the story. Radar reports that they asked Gloria Allred about the payoff and she replied, “No Comment.” The Tiger Woods Story: car crash, mistresses, affairs, press conferences, voicemails, sexting, text messages apologies, and police reports (photos,  pictures, slideshows, videos, and poll vote now!)

It would seem to be detrimental to Rachel Uchitel to go public with her story now. She has adamantly denied having an affair with Tiger Woods, agreed to undergo a polygraph, and gave a lengthy tell-all interview to the New York Post stating that Ashley Samson, the National Enquirer source, that gave the juicy details to the National Enquirer was nothing more than a drug addicted hooker looking to score some big bucks: $25,000. To go public with the admission that she has been lying all along might prove more damaging to her reputation and career than she intended.

Should Tiger Woods be paying off his mistresses to remain silent, he missed one. The second alleged mistress, Jaimee Grubbs has been publicizing her story and released an alleged voicemail and text messages (sexting) that she says she received from Tiger. The thought that he would pay off Rachel Uchitel and not pay off Jaimee Grubbs (who had voice and text messaging proof)only adds to the mystery.

Tiger Woods has remained silent about who he had an affair with, only admitting to transgressions and hurting his family by his behavior. Reports state that Tiger and his wife, Elin are undergoing intensive marriage counseling in an attempt to save their marriage. For many, the lack of openness and transparency from Tiger only adds to the rumors, confusion, and speculation.

Multiple publicists have stated that Tiger Woods should have come forward last week and released an official statement, one that specifically addresses the affairs and allegations made by the tabloids. Should he have done so, it is quite possible that this story would no longer be headline news.

Until someone clears up the confusion and mystery, and in a straightforward manner, such as David Letterman recently did, it is very likely this story is not going away anytime soon.
