The North Dakota college softball players missing since Sunday have been found dead in their vehicle, according to MSNBC. Sign On San Diego reports the women’s vehicle was pulled from a 12-foot deep pond.

The three women reportedly often went star gazing near a lake in southwestern North Dakota.

Police have not released what they believe may have happened to Afton Williamson, 20; Ashley Neufeld, 22; and Kyrstin Gemar, 22.

A friend of the women received two telephone calls from them on Sunday night, but the calls dropped. The contents of the calls has not been released, however, the friend called 911 after talking with them, stating the women needed help.

Dickinson Police Lt. Rod Banyai said “We have nothing that indicates foul play, but we are not ruling it out. We are looking at every avenue, everything from a car accident to an abduction. We just don’t know.”
