Undoubtedly, many were brought to tears when Michael Jackson's children took the stage. When Paris Jackson took the microphone and told the world that Michael had been the best father and that she loved him very much and would miss him, nearly everyone broke down and cried.
Speculation has arisen that Michael Jackson's body was missing from the casket and that the service was being held with an empty casket. Regardless of whether Michael Jackson was in the casket or not the memorial service was phenomenal and has proved to be one of the most watched services since Princess Diana died.
Mariah Carey has since apologized for her performance of I'll Be There, as her voice was not its usual flawless soprano. To that, I ask if she really needs to apologize. It was a memorial service for Michael Jackson. No one was expecting a stellar concert, at least I hope they weren't. We expect the celebrities to be wrought with grief.
Marlon Jackson broke down in tears as he talked about Michael and how much he loved him. He made the comment that maybe the world would finally leave Michael alone. It was a very sad moment. One where the world was reminded of the tabloid rumors, speculations, and allegations that had followed Michael Jackson and plagued his career throughout the end of his life.

Thank you 4 not calling Carey's performance a publicity stunt as your fellow colleague in Memphis has said. I don't think she should have apologized cause she knew him for around 20 yrs & as anybody would have been shaken up if you were put in her shoes. Anyway the memorial as a whole was more tastefully done then I expected. He got the sendoff that he deserved. It's only a shame that he wasn't alive to hear & see the impact he still had on the world & was made to feel like a freak the last 15 yrs. of his life
michael was such a great artist and i cried almost the whole time i watched his memorial. i am so sad he is gone and will never forget him. god bless the family and friends he left behind. he will be dearly missed by billions!!
