Photo credit: FacebookJimmy Sullivan “The Rev” drummer for Avenged Sevenfold died on Monday, December 28, 2009 in his southern California home. A notice was placed on the bands website that shared their sadness and grief over their friend’s passing. The message referred to Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan as one of the world’s greatest drummers and described him as being a best friend as well as brother. It was announced that Jimmy Sullivan died of natural causes.
Born James Owen Sullivan on February 10, 1981, he was known to fans as “The Rev” or “The Reverend Tholomew Plague.” Jimmy Sullivan “The Rev” was found in his home at approximately 11:00 a.m., reports say. Avenged Sevenfold formed in 1999 and went on to earn mainstream success, Jimmy Sullivan co-founded the band.
Though the cause of death has been listed as natural, the Orange County Coroner has opened an investigation.
The statement on the Avenged Sevenfold website reads:
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world's best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Rest in peace?? Babe you were an amazing drummer and a party animal, theres no way that you could be happy resting in peace.. so I am going to say party on with the fellow rock lords that have past on also. You will forever be in our hearts. You were/are an inspiration to alot of people including a few of my friends.
If there was anyway I could bring you back I wouldn"t hesitate to do so.
