Jan Brewer’s strange performance on televised political debate goes viral, see entire debate video

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer was seen during a televised debate Wednesday, stumbling and stammering through her opening statement, including a 10-second awkward pause.

Appearing on PBS’ ‘Horizon,’ Brewer is seen smiling, exhaling loudly, and then speaking about her accomplishments as the state’s governor during her opening statements.

“We have… did what was right for Arizona,” she says at one point.

Later, Brewer pulled herself together, but did not remain for a question-and-answer session with reporters following the debate.

Sky News calls Brewer’s performance a “TV Meltdown,” while Salon.com carried a headline that read “Jan Brewer: Bumbling politician of the year.”

Of her uncomfortable few moments during the debate, Brewer said “It was certainly the longest 16 seconds of my life… I’m human, I’m human.”

Brewer spearheaded the controversial Arizona immigration law, requiring law enforcement officers to question individuals they may detain for various infractions about their residency status if they are suspected in being in the country illegally.

Sky News reports that Brewer has said she will not likely participate in any further debates. She currently has a 20-point lead in the polls.
