Is Tiger Woods a Suicide risk?
Commentary
To ask the question, “Is Tiger Woods a suicide risk?” One must begin by playing devil’s advocate. The animosity towards Tiger at this point is great and it is hard to see the pro-golfer in anything but a sympathetic light. It may seem that the question of whether Tiger Woods is at risk of suicide means that he gets the public’s sympathy, but for the sake of an individual who may be suffering from an illness ( a sexual addiction), and one who has two young children; the question should be raised.
There are two pictures painted of Tiger Woods, and the truth may be a combination of both. The first presents the best golfer in the world, a master player in two fields: golf and women. An egotistical, selfish man who can afford anything he wants and chose sex, despite the fact that he already had a beautiful, model wife who would have been the dream woman for many men.
The other picture is of Tiger Woods the wounded child. Some may even liken Tiger to Michael Jackson in the sense that he was a child prodigy, in the spotlight young, and essentially had his childhood robbed from him. No one would argue that a robbed childhood never works well for anyone, and problems (emotional, psychological) often follow well into adulthood. Is Tiger Woods exhibiting symptoms of a troubled psyche damaged from his childhood?
Without having the ability to take out a magnifying lens and examine Tiger Woods’ thoughts, no one can truly say whether he is suicidal or not. The question must be asked, however. There are several things that we do know, that may indicate that Tiger Woods is indeed at an increased risk for suicide.
1. No one has seen Tiger Woods for several weeks.
There are many people, celebrities, and media figures who are regularly in the spotlight, and who have also experienced great moral failures. Typically, these people remain in the public spotlight long enough to make a statement or for paparazzi to snap a few photos as they meet with their attorneys, exit a restaurant, or even (more intrusively) enter or leave their homes. There has been no such sighting of Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods disappearance from the public light may indicate a sense of extreme guilt and shame that he can’t face the public. Should he feel that disappearing is his only option, he may be contemplating disappearing completely, through suicide.
2. The entire world is focusing on Tiger Woods’ transgressions
There is no way to fathom what the reality of turning on a television station or walking by a news or magazine stand and having the main topic of discussion your moral sins, failures, and transgressions can have on the human psyche. Unless Tiger Woods is suffering from an extreme personality disorder and feels no guilt or remorse for his actions, he may be experiencing extreme bouts of guilt, depression, shame, fear, anxiety, and isolation.
3. The extreme distance from where Tiger has fallen is so great that it may be too much for him to grasp. Tiger Woods’ went from being the most popular, idolized athlete to being discussed as essentially a sexual pervert overnight. He grew up with the praise and adoration from the public, and may not know how to deal with the negative spotlight he’s been placed under.
Again, he may be experiencing something similar to Michael Jackson who went from the King of Pop to the subject of child molestation rumors.
Many may feel that Tiger Woods is to egotistical to ever consider suicide, but while he is out of the spotlight and when the world’s greatest and most resourceful paparazzi can’t get a camera to zoom in on the back of his head somewhere, it must be considered that he is overcome with the weight of rejection, a rejection that he has never experienced before. It is due to this rejection that Tiger Woods, if he is at a place so low that he has never before experienced it, may be a suicide risk.

Pitching public pontifications post popular person’s prickly predicament passes perhaps as predominantly personal prurience.
Me thinks the press thinks too highly of themselves that Tiger would consider this line of thought. Only way I think he'd do that is if his extra "tool" were falling off, and he couldn't experience another dip in his stick.

I'm the best golfer in the world. A Billionaire with girls lined up at the "Tiger Room" in the club. As soon as I get out of this marriage, I could date some Hollywood starlet and be on top again. Tiger Woods doesn't strike me as a sex addict, he strikes me as a sociopath. He's been cheating on his wife since day 1 of his marriage. He told each of his mistresses that she's special, she's the one, etc. He lied to his family and to the public. This was going on for YEARS! If he wasn't disgusted by his own behavior then, he never will be. He must think he's invincible, that because he can whack a little white ball around a big lawn better than most he's therefore someone to be worshipped. I'm sure right now he's crafting his comeback, because he thinks the public is as stupid as the women, family, and friends he manipulated. He probably pictures himself stepping out onto the golf course to massive applause and adoration. OH TIGE! WE MISSED YOU!!!
