Is Adam Lambert being victimized in the AMA performance controversy? Many viewers say yes. We conducted a poll regarding Adam Lambert’s controversial sexual shocker performance and it has been closely split down the middle, with a little more in favor of against his performance. Those who support the Glambert, however, feel that he is being singled out for several reasons, first he is male, second he is a gay male. Was the same controversial response elicited when Madonna, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera shared a kiss? After all, there were three of them kissing at once.
After the incident, Adam Lambert made a statement saying that he felt he was being unfairly targeted.
“I feel like women performers have been pushing the envelope sexually for the past 20 years. And all of a sudden, a male does it and everybody goes, “Oh, we can`t show that on TV.” And to me that`s a form of discrimination and it`s a double standard.” Adam Lambert said.
Do you agree? Has Adam Lambert been unfairly victimized and targeted because of his sexuality and gender or did he push the envelope too far and sacrifice morality while doing so.
The incident has drawn outcry and controversy and it extends far beyond the advertising sponsors of the AMA show. Some are referencing homophobia, intolerance of homosexuality, and gay-bashing with their criticism of the AMA performance.
