The Hope for Haiti Now website and telephone number will remain open for the next six months giving people the opportunity to continue giving throughout the rebuilding efforts of Haiti. It is common that after a disaster many people will donate but when it comes to the long term rebuilding donations drop off. Keeping the Hope for Haiti Now donation lines open and the star studded impact the original musical scores will have may prove to keep donations flowing for the long term.
The donations were made by those in the private sector as well as corporations. Not only is the figure impressive, it is record breaking and has proved to be the greatest amount ever received through a disaster –relief telethon, reports CNN.
