Women’s groups have already approached CBS asking they pull the pro-life Tim Tebow ad that will run during this year’s Super Bowl because it conveys an anti-abortion message. Now, high profile attorney, Gloria Allred says the commercial may be full of inaccuracies, according to the Huffington Post.
Tebow, a former Florida quarterback who’s known for writing Bible verses under his eyes during football games, will be featured in the commercial alongside his mother, Pam Tebow.
The ad, which was financed by Christian group Focus on the Family, recounts how doctors recommended Pam have an abortion after she developed complications during her pregnancy with Tim while in the Philippines.
Allred contests Pam's story and states that abortion has been illegal in the Philippines since 1930 and those engaging in such activity can face up to six-years behind bars. Thus, she “finds it hard to believe that doctors would have recommended the procedure,” according to the Post.
Allred told Radar Online she will file complaints with both the FTC and the FCC if “this ad airs and fails to disclose that abortions were illegal at the time Ms. Tebow made her choice.”
Of the controversy surrounding the ad, Tim Tebow said “I know some people won’t agree with it, but I think they can at least respect that I stand up for what I believe.”

Allred is lying when she said that abortion is not allowed there in the case of the mother's life in danger.
Punisher can you read, she never said her life was in danger, just abortion was illegal at the time you should read before you comment on something .and by the way he's not gonna be any good in nfl
Commercials are nothing more than suggestions, lighten up people.
If the Huffington Post says its right then it must be. I hope this author realizes that the Huffington Post is not really a newspaper, but is really a tabloid magazine type of website. It is not a credible source at all.
AB": Punisher can you read, she never said her life was in danger, just abortion was illegal at the time you should read before you comment on something .and by the way he's not gonna be any good in nfl
Me: By the way, it is YOU who should read what Allred actually said: "One fact [is] that the act of abortion is totally illegal in the majority Catholic country of the Philippines under all circumstances including rape and incest, and even without a provision in the circumstance that the mothers life is in danger. The law has been in effect since 1930."
Allred is lying when she said abortion is illegal in all circumstances over there.
in the philippines, under the general criminal law principles of necessity, an abortion may be legally performed when the pregnant woman's life is in danger.
Even if it is illegal, what difference does that make? There is always going to be a dr. or someone that will perform it. Not to mention, she could have flown back to the states to have it. The mother of Tim made a decision that was correct. Period.
