Earthquake hits Taiwan, measures 6.4 on Richter scale
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale has shaken an area approximately 20 miles northwest of T’ai-tung, Taiwan.
The Central Weather Bureau reported the quake’s epicenter was near the city of Kaohsiung and had a depth of 5 km.
The temblor struck at about 8:18 a.m. GMT, according to Reuters.
Reuters reports there were no immediate reports of casualties from the temblor.
