Director John Hughes dies of heart attack at 59

While taking a morning walk during a visit to his family in New York City, director John Hughes, 59, suffered a heart attack and died in Manhattan, according to a spokesperson.

Hughes is best known for directing, producing, and writing a number of hit films in the 1980s, including “The Breakfast Club,” “Pretty in Pink,” “Sixteen Candles,” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”
