Dr. Cyril Wecht was asked how a 32-year-old actress could die from ‘natural’ causes resulting in a heart attack. Seemingly, it there is nothing ‘natural’ about women in their thirties dying from cardiac arrest. Dr. Cyril Wecht immediately focused on the slew of prescription medications reportedly found in Brittany Murphy’s home as the cause of death.
Dr. Wecht brought up a very good point and one that may become a factor in the case. He stated that it is certainly possible for women in their thirties to die from a cardiac arrest; however, they would have had a history of congenital heart problems and be aware of their conditions. There have been reports that Brittany told her friends that she never used illegal drugs because she had a heart condition. This information has not been made public by Brittany’s family. If the reports are true and she did have a heart problem, the mystery of her sudden death may be solved.
Dr. Wecht said, however, “When you have a 32-year-old person dying suddenly, and especially a celebrity in Los Angeles, you can place your bet down that it’s going to prove to be a case of acute combined drug toxicity.” Dr. Wecht continued to say that he felt Brittany Murphy’s death would be determined to be the same as Michael Jackson, Anna Nicole Smith, her son Daniel, and Heath Ledger. It was evident in the video that Dr. Wecht felt that Brittany Murphy’s cardiac arrest was the result of a drug cocktail that was found in the home.
Earlier today, the website TMZ posted a report that contained ‘leaked autopsy notes’ pertaining to the drugs that were found in Brittany Murphy’s home. You may read that report and information here.
The cause of death is not yet determined and results from toxicology testing aren’t expected for another six weeks.
