Two notable exceptions to the short and sparkly trend: Fergie and Rihanna.
- Fergie showcased her signature long tresses and her gams in a long slinky dress by Giorgio Armani Privé.
- Rihanna was welcomed back to the AMAs after a long trying year. She rocked a blond streaked hair do and a long Marchesa black dress. End result: very fashion forward and very Rihanna!
