Landing her first award nomination since the celebrated release of "I Look To You" in August, Whitney Houston will vie for a Soul Train Award in November.

While not picking up a leading four nominations, like Beyonce, Houston will face off with the "Singles Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" singer, Chrisette Michele, Ledisi and Jennifer Hudson for Soul Train's Best R&B/Soul Artist Female Award.

Joining the aforementioned ladies, Maxwell and Keri Hilson lead this year's Soul Train Awards with four nominations a piece.

As previously reported, the 2009 Soul Train Awards are due to take place November 3 in Atlanta, Georgia and will later air on Centric November 29.

Academy Award nominated talent Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson will host the revamped show, which returns on a new network (Centric) after an over two year hiatus.

Drake, Ryan Leslie, Solange, Musiq Soulchild, Raphael Saadiq, Mary Mary, Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, Mario, Smokie Norful, Marvin Sapp, Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz, Monica and more are also nominated for awards ranging from Best New Artist to Best Collaboration.

Michael Jackson will also be honored during the ceremony (more on the honor here....).

Unfortunately as a Whitney Houston fan, I'm saddened by how much the album has dropped on Amazon in the past week. Last week at this time, the album was in the low 20s. Now it's down to #48 and falling fast. Beyonce is starting to get her credibility; a legitimate hard copy Biography of hers has recently been published. And when I compare Whitney's comeback attempt to Aretha Franklin's and Tina Turner's, she definately falls a bit short compared to them; only her loyal fans will still passionately love Whitney; the general public though finds Beyonce favorable. Whitney won't get booed this year, but she'll just be finding herself watching in the audience and at most getting a few glimpses of her face. The best of post-Bobby Brown Whitney is probably down to road as she is still recovering.

Michael, please stop using false statistics to bash Whitney! ILTY has sold more than 0.7 million CDs in a month. That numbers are increasing and the CD is going bypass Kelly Clarkson to become the most selling album released in 2009 by a female artist.
Stop spreading rumours and hatred, isiot!
