Rihanna avoided a serious wardrobe related disaster on ABC's Good Morning America Tuesday.
According to the singer, the dress she planned to wear ended up being shelved because the zipper snapped off, revealing her backside. Lucky for Rihanna, the whole thing happened backstage and not during the show, which was taped before a live audience.
Laughing off the near on-air wardrobe malfunction, which happened a little over a minute and a half before going live, Rihanna told Robin Roberts "I guess I'm a little too fat right now ... the zip busted."
Alluding to the fact that the dress was backstage somewhere, Rihanna went on to tell Roberts "They wanted to stitch it up but I couldn't".
Nonetheless, Rihanna kept the show going for fans awaiting performances of "Wait Your Turn (The Wait Is Ova)," "Russian Roulette" and the requested "Umbrella".
Rihanna's performance on Good Morning America follows an appearance and performance at Sunday's American Music Awards. Performing "Hard," Rihanna aided in giving ABC some of the highest ratings for its American Music Awards, in association with Dick Clark Productions.
