Tina Knowles, mother of Beyonce Knowles, has filed for divorce from her husband and Beyonce’s manager Mathew Knowles.
Looks like Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles will be singing “Single Ladies” real soon as it has been reported that she has filed for divorce from her husband of 29 years, Mathew Knowles. The couple that married in 1980 has had their bumps in the road in the past including a separation that occurred early on in Beyonce’s career.
We’re talking before Destiny’s Child became a worldwide success, so it comes as no surprise that mama Knowles is ready to take her ring off it for good.
The announcement about the divorce comes just a month after a Los Angeles resident, Alexsandra Wright, filed a paternity suit claiming that Mathew fathered her unborn child.
But don’t think that this divorce is going to get messy with Tina taking to twitter to air out Mathew’s dirty laundry. In a statement to the Associated Press, the couple informed that they are looking to keep their divorce proceeding as clean as possible, so if you are looking to place your bets on who will walk away from this fight unscathed you will be “sadly disappointed.”
“The decision to end our marriage is an amicable one. We remain friends, parents, and business partners. If anyone is expecting an ugly messy fight, they will be sadly disappointed. We ask for your respect of our privacy as we handle this matter."
Told you.
Beyonce will continue to do what she does best, which is work the heck out of a stage, when she embarks on a two-week extension of her I Am Tour. The singer has added on dates for her tour and will perform in South America and The Caribbean beginning in February 2010.
Also coming in February 2010 is Beyonce’s new fragrance "Heat." Here is the commercial promoting the new scent.
