TV for Chickens
YouTube user vlogbrothers posted a video regarding yet another reason why homeowners with the legal right to keep chickens ought to run out and buy a couple of chicks.
Having viewed a contemporary art show featuring a Finnish artist and German resident Tea Makipaa, vlog brother John gives a witty and hyper-enthusiastic commentary about her work meant to shed light on the unsustainable Western practices in food production. Makipaa produced videos showing chickens having 'normal' chicken lives: wandering around, scratching in the dirt, eating plants and bugs and socializing in unconfined spaces. These videos were then shown to hens in commercial egg factories. The movies were found to calm the battery hens substantially and decrease the homicidal tendencies found in birds with inadequate space and freedom to move at will. The art pieces reduced anxiety, and decreassed incidences of chicken cannibalism, a common complication of keeping hens in inhumane conditions.
While the information presented in vlogbrothers' video is interesting and helpful to those wanting to make an informed decision regarding their food sources, the presentation is comical and hilarious, with an energy rarely seen day to day- certainly not in the news.

Ok, that was deeply disturbing and sad at the same time. Really people just stop the freakin HORRIBLE factory battery cage farming and FREE the chickens...let them live wonderful normal lives without the use of "chicken TV" what next? "pig TV" for those confined pigs who can't even turn around...ok I'm going to stop my rampage of Animal Rights because I will go on and on and on...
