Controversial CK ad replaced

Last week's controversial Calvin Klein ad was taken down yesterday and replaced with a shot of Doutzen Kroes, solo, in a red bikini.

Is this ad going to please those who rallied against the previous one- stating it was too "pornographic" ?  It's pretty generic, a basic bikini shot that can be found anywhere from the pages of Sports Illustrated to Victoria's Secret.  Will it be acceptable simply because it does not portray a young woman lying around in the company of three good looking men?  What about those silly Axe Body Spray commercials?  Those have been around for a few years now and it doesn't seem like anyone is trying to rip those out of rotation.  Not to mention the fast food ads where women fall over themselves over hamburgers while making sexual innuendos toward some guy?  Yes, they're dressed, but doesn't it fall under the same category?  Or is it OK because it was a man, and not a woman, in the midst of the action?  Seriously, can't a girl have some fun in the 21st century?

In any case, whether or not this ad pleases more on-lookers, the original image that was taken down already made it's point.  It did exactly what it needed to do.  It turned heads and sparked interest.  The only person we know for sure who is pleased with the billboard swap is Doutzen Kroes herself, who took to the site last night to take a picture in front of it- and post it on her Twitter.  Believe it.

some people still have morals and respect, god forbid. it would be fine in a magazine, but not something kids should have to look at while they're driving down the road. awkward questions, much? more so i just love doutzen.

I think CK is laughing at how dumb people are.
