RITUAL is a new event coming this Saturday to The Spot

Flyer art by Kate Logan.

Like the phoenix rises from the ashes, as old events are phased out, new events seem to spring right up in their place.  May saw the end of Electrohurtz and the beginning of Dream for Secretroom.net.  Coincidentally or not, this month Phobia had a low turnout, while Oni of Agoraphobia Productions, who hosts Phobia, is given a new event to host.

Now, the point of this article is not to speculate about the present or future state of Phobia.  In fact, because of unnecessary negative remarks from the people that run the venue that currently hosts Phobia, I will no longer write about Phobia or mention the location where it takes place.

No, the real purpose of this article is to make the exciting annoucement that there is an awesome new event hosted by the ever-fabulous Oni, and it's going to be awesome!

RITUAL is the newest monthly theme night to take place at The Spot.  For the maiden voyage of this event, it only seems appropriate that it be pirate-themed!  There will be "booty"-licious pirate wench go-go dancers, a video wall, live performance art, and loot for your treasure chest.

Pirate themes are always entertaining.  Not only is pirate a popular costume which ensures that most people will be dressed according to theme, but it's also just a fun costume.  People tend to get more into the role-playing aspect when cosplaying pirates, perhaps because they are so well known in today's culture.  Even non-regular cosplayers get into the character.  So everyone looks amazing and acts like scallywags and really allows themselves to have a great time.

The Spot is also a fun little venue.  It's fairly small and cozy, but it the decor is beautiful and dark with red candle holders on the walls and black wrought iron details.  The bar is shaped like a square in the front part of the room and is surrounded by high tables and chairs.  The back is nothing but dance floor.  The last time I was there, they had a stage that made for a nice place to take a break from dancing.  DJ Nemesis will be spinning, so the dance floor will no doubt be jumping all night.

RITUAL will take place from 10pm-3am at The Spot.  The event is 21 and up.  The cover is $5 until 11pm, and $10 after so get there early to save some money and get the party started!  Parking is free, and complimentary valet is located at the nearby Loca Luna.

Retraction:  I changed my mind and decided to write about Spring4th Center.  You can check out my review here.

Negative? We asked you to actually seek sources more sources and I asked you to contact us for our side and this is seen as a negative? We corrected your mistakes and this is a negative? You still haven't contacted us for any discussion about the subject.

We responded to what you wrote. Is that a problem? We asked for a retraction on your false statements and I admonished your sloppy journalism.

I wrote for PrickMag and Xcitement for years, I have been published 4-5 other magazines, my photos have been in dozens and I stood by my work and if I had ever made a mistake I corrected it.

Now you are going to punish Phobia for all the hard work they have done to stop what? Us from commenting? Becuase we asked you to report in a timely and factual method? Why are you punishing them?
