I stopped by Decorazon last weekend to check out the "Lady in the Water" exhibit and was totally awed. I was wowed by the story behind the art as well as the actual art. If you haven't yet checked it out, I suggest you do so tomorrow night because a new exhibit will be taking it's place this Thursday.
I glanced in the back room to get a peek at the new exhibit and while it doesn't seem like it will be quite as awe-inducing, I think it turns the fun up a notch... especially if you're of my political persuasion.
"Farewell Shoes for Mr. Bush" is the product of the artists' interpretation of a shoe. One particular kind of shoe... the throwing kind. Entries poured into the gallery from all over North America and Canada and the result is, well, you'll just have to see for yourself. This exhibit has already received international attention, and not all of it great. I think "controversial" is the word we're looking for.
My favorite part? The gallery hasn't yet decided what it will do with the shoes when the exhibit closes. Their suggestion? "The exhibition may find new or national venues after its initial run at Decorazon; donation to the Bush Library is also a potential option."
