The following are the unedited and as yet uninvestigated reports filed with MUFON. All information is taken from the public portion of the MUFON witness reporting database, so city names are often not mentioned for privacy purposes. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If MUFON investigates and reports back on any of these cases, I will release an update.
A West Virginia witness reports watching a silent, cigar or disc-shaped UFO flew into a cloud in MUFON Case # 24568. Almost immedidately - a thunderstorm errupted.
A group of star gazers in California outside trying to beat the heat on July 15, 2010, watched three of those "stars" change position in the sky in MUFON Case # 24567. The reporting witness had just joked that maybe they were not watching stars - maybe the "stars" were UFOs that were watching them. Be careful what you wish for.
Two Georgia friends were talking outside on July 16, 2010, when they noticed a very bright, stationary light in the sky in MUFON Case # 24559. The object seemed to get brighter as though it was moving toward them and then "started moving in presice geometric movements to the right and then downwards." The object then moved upward very quickly, dimmed, and disappeared.
A Georgia parent with two sons might have witnessed the same object a day earlier - on July 15, 2010, in MUFON Case # 24557. The descriptions are almost the same - slow moving, bright light in the sky.
Two Marines standing post at 2 a.m. on May 9, 2010, in California, report "4 orange lights in a trapezoid shape or formation fly over" in MUFON Case # 24554. They say that the object flew over fast - and was completely silent. And these guys work around military aircraft. No city or base name was given in the public portion of the MUFON report.
An Oklahoma father and son driving north along Route 177 on July 15, 2010, watched a metal colored aircraft with "red-blue lights to side, flashing blue-ish light in the middle of a half circle shaped object" in MUFON Case # 24552. They report the object was at the height "of an airplane just taking off" and was definitely not an airplane. The two circled back two minutes later for a second look, but the object was gone.
A Florida witness reports a May 18, 2010, event where a light was seen moving "up in a snake-like pattern real high in the sky" in MUFON Case # 24549. The object stopped, then moved with "jet speed," only to "stop on a dime." Then the event repeated itself - all over a 6-minute period.
The object looked like Venus in the night sky on July 13, 2010, the California witness reported in MUFON Case # 24573. But then it started moving - and the witness realized it was about 500 feet in the air. As it moved overhead, the color of the object changed to orange-red. And like many other simliar reports, there was no sound associated with the sighting.
