UFO traffic leaves 'white puffs' over Connecticut

The UFO Traffic Report for Wednesday, July 15, 2009, includes nine selected sightings over eight states, according to witness statements filed in the past 48 hours with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

In Other News: The first Christian Symposium on UFOs and Aliens is over - and Gary Bates has produced a most interesting feature - Reaching Out on Roswell.

Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If MUFON investigates and reports back on any of these cases, I will update this page. The following reports and their headlines are unedited. You can read my selected cases by type of UFO report at the UFO Traffic Report index page.

CN, July 12, 2009 - flying formation with contrail. MUFON Case # 18064.

A Connecticut family out walking at Bluff Point looked up and noticed "black dots" or what seemed at first to be "white puffs." The witness said a flying formation was leaving these behind. While jet engines and piston engine noises could be heard, the witness says the area is near the Groton-New London airport. The sighting puzzled the witnesses.

CA, July 11, 2009 - Dozens of transparent spheres of light circling and criss crossing in the cloud layer moving at very high speeds. MUFON Case # 18101.

A San Francisco Bay area witness watched seven or more "diffuse/transaparent orbs/spheres/balls of light in the sky" moving at high speed in "circle formations" that would "intersect/criss-cross making the overall pattern look like figure eights in some places." The witness said that when you looked at the "whole sky," you could actually see "many more balls of light zipping all over the sky."

NC, July 14, 2009 - Seen round brownish-red object in sky before it leveled off and with no sound, sped away at an incredible rate of speed. MUFON Case # 18096.

A North Carolina USMC veteran and his son throwing ball in the backyard heard a "swooshing jet engine noise in the sky that abruptly stopped." Searching the sky for a jet, they instead saw a "brownish red balloon" looking object. The object made no sound, had no vapor trail and "sped out of view faster than anything I have ever seen."

CA, July 11, 2009 - Dark silver sphere. MUFON Case # 18095.

This California witness watched a "small, dark sphere" under the clouds that appeared to be hovering in place. The witness ran inside to get a camera to record the object, but upon return the object was gone. The witness said it looked like the balls seen in the skies above Mexico City.

WA, April 16, 2009 - bright floating h.p.s. light. MUFON Case # 18092.

This Richland, Washington, resident saw a light floating across the sky that looked like "a 1000 watt high pressure sodium light." The craft seemed to move at a slow speed and was silent and then "vanished into thin air" over a clear sky. The witness also reports that there were cell phone problems immediatley after seeing the object.

NY, July 12, 2009 - White sphere silently flies by at 50+ MPH near WTC site... MUFON Case # 18086.

Two witnesses in Wagner Park across from the Statue of Liberty stopped for a rest from their bike ride and noticed an object near a 30-story apartment building that was 200 feet away. The object was "round, all white, and solid looking" with no lights and no sound, about 15 to 20 feet in diameter, and approximately 300 feet in the air. The reporting witness said you would need a grapefruit held at arm's length to cover the object up. Then in just 5 to 8 seconds, it had moved much further away toward Brooklyn. The witness estimates the object moved at between 50 and 100 mph. The second witness relayed that she saw "something spinning on the bottom of the sphere."

NH, July 13, 2009 - Very bright White object with a tail of red (like fire) moving silently over the tree tops in my backyard. Larger than a plane, no wings. Moved rapidly, but not like a meteor, horizontal in sky. 5 to 8 seconds and then disappeared. MUFON Case # 18085.

This Londonderry, New Hampshire, witness is hoping there were more eyes toward the sky July 13, specifically near the 10 p.m. hour, when a "very, very bright white object appeared just over the tree tops." The object had a red tail and moved horizontally from left to right. No wings. No sound. Sighting lasted about 15 minutes. Anyone else out there with a similar story that night?

MI, July 8, 2009 - Saw 3 lights equal distance apart that disapeared and reapeared on the oposite side of the other 2. MUFON Case # 18084.

A Michigan witness saw three groups of lights in the sky at 10:35 p.m.  - each group consisted of two lights. The lights were silent and close to each other. One group of lights disappeared, but reappeared on the far right side of the other two groups. Over a 45-second period, it repeated this maneuver two more times. Then, each of the groups of lights, one after the other, just disappeared.

IN, July 5, 2009 - red-orange fireball in Westfield IN. on July 5th. Now have attached photo. MUFON Case # 18076.

A Westfield, Indiana, witness in a Target parking lot on July 5, watched a "red-orange fireball" move overhead north to south. A similar slow-moving object was reported by the witnesses' brother in Kokomo, Indiana.

I the cases with the photos I'm 99% sure that's from a skywriting device. I have witnessed this myself and pondered what it was for a few minute until I noticed it spelled "GEICO". If you Google Image search "GEICO skywriting" you will find a very similar style to what is seen the photos. My guess is it's some kind of test or malfunction, or an attempt at making something so fancy with it that it's hard to tell.

YEP! That's exactly what that is. In fact, there is a youtube video that shows you how it's done... This forum does not allow links. Just go to youtube and type "digital skywriting" in the search box. The how to video should be the first one that pops up. Sorry guys but this one was easy.

It was definitely planes in formation skywriting, I saw them over Norwalk Connecticut on July 12 and you could clearly see the planes.
