A Texas teenager attempting to capture "spirit orbs" on his cell phone camera walked away with an unusual image of a UFO, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness database.
The following is the unedited witness testimony from MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Texas MUFON investigates and reports back on this case, I will update this page.
TX, October 11, 2009 - Teenage son caught a disc shape with his camera phone at a freinds house outside. He did not see it with his naked eye, noticed the object the nect night. MUFON Case # 20218.
My 13 year old son and his 2 friends were hanging out at one of the boys house (Oct. 11, 2009) when they were talking about spirit orbs and catching them on camera. So they went out on the back patio late afternoon, it was misty and cool that day. He opened his cell phone to take randon pics to try and capture orbs. He took 3 pics which 2 were blurry of the willow tree that is in the boys back yard. The last one he took was of the grass, tree, a ball, and sky.
The following evening he was going back through his pics and noticed the UFO in the clear pic he took. He came down stairs and showed his dad then showed me. My first reaction was that is a UFO, and I asked where he got the pic, he said he took it. My husband fowarded the pic to his phone so he could zoom in on it. It is very clear that it is a UFO. I know that it is not a flying pig, witch, Santa, bird, plane, or the all too famous "weather balloon". I asked the boys did they see it or hear it. They did not and were totally in "awe" over the whole thing. I want clarification on the pic from a UFO pro. Some people think we are crazy or that we photo shopped the pic. I wish I owned that program and had the knowledge of how to edit pics, but I don't. My kids tell me I am crazy and well maybe sometimes I am when they make me crazy. LOL.
My family has always believed in UFO's, so when we saw this pic we were like "wow", "see they do exist". My family is not scared since the discovery of the pic, UFO's have been around for along time, and I think if they meant us harm they would have done so a long time ago. You can't see who is piloting the craft so I can't for sure tell you if it is an alien or human.

Looks like the base of a bird feeder to me. What's the parallel thing right above it at the edge of the picture? Could that be the TOP of the bird feeder?

I thought we learned we cannot trust any UFO photos taken on an Iphone now because of the Iphone aplication that is available to place a UFO in any photo. He was looking through them later? Which gave him time to use the application toplace the UFO in the photo. Sorry I can't trust it as much as I would like to.

I went out and looked. Yes it looks like my humming bird feeder from Walmart. Red base and clear up top. Same size too. If anyone wants I can hang it up and take a picture and we can compare.
The Hard Truth
Once you truly see a UFO, then you know the truth.
Until everyone sees a UFO.....then the rest of the folks either believe with hopes or are non-believer's.
UFO's are not that hard to spot. How much do you really want to see a UFO? If one will just take the time to observe the skies daily using common sense and a pair of binoculars.
*Everyone wants someone else to bring them the proof, but yet they will only truly believe when they personally see a UFO for themselves.
So those of us that have seen UFO's, mostly your just beating your head against a wall trying to get others to believe. Only seeing is believing. Even seeing one personally can leave you pinching yourself every so often as a reality check! So how are others going to really believe?
If one truly wants to see a UFO, they won't be so lazy as not to observe the skies as often as they can. I have never heard of one flying around in the house and getting in the way of the TV!
Grim Reaper I respect your opinion, I am a MUFON SSD I have been looking for UFO's all my life (almost 50 yrs). I have never seen a ufo but its not for lack of looking. Mainly because I know astronomy, balloons, air ships, satillites, space junk and air craft. Grew up with an observatory in the backyard. I look at 100's of pictures a month. Six months ago, a lady took a picture of at a lake she claimed she had a ufo. We found the plane, pilot, verified flight path and time. Several weeks ago in the Texas Panhandle a UFO report. We found the balloon, launch and landing site, flight path and time matched. After all the work we did we caught alot of grief from people like you. Last month I sent a fake ufo picture to a guy who swore it was a real ufo. I know it was fake because I took the picture of the crack in my windshield. He still argued with me. Want to prove UFO's to people like me? We want real proof (alien or piece of ship would be nice). Dont show me fuzzy lights in the sky!

Definitely a bird feeder and I bet this is how it came down. Teen has camera in hand, bird flies to feeder, teen says, "neato" and takes picture, teen looks at picture and says to self, "wow, looks like a UFO". Teen remembers MUFON reporting sight and says, "why not". lol
The real problem with it though is that it's too good to be true.

Happy to hear of your dedication to this field of study. I'm not a want a be believer in UFOs. I have seen them. To me it's not a matter of what if. It's a matter of who and why are they here. Our government is hiding all of it that they can from us. You know there are people that just seem to see them frequently. Why not seek one of them out and team up with them? That is if you really want to see a UFO? Why not? Wouldn't it be worth it to you if that was what it takes to see your first UFO in person? I have read some of the posts here for months. Yes even on this website. I have read a few posts that certain individuals see them very often and very numerously plus help others to also get their first sightings. If they can help others to get their very first sighting.....why not you too? You sound very dedicated and sincere, perhaps all you need is the correct connections. So I suggest you find someone who seems to be a UFO magnet, especially if all else has failed you.

If anyone had real evidence, like an alien or piece of a ship what would happen to that evidence as soon as anyone was foolish enough to proclaim it or exhibit it? Our government would never let that happen. Anyone who thinks they can get this type of proof and give it to the world to see and hold has not factored the U.S. government in to the equation.
I have seen a few UFOs close enough to see the surface of the crafts in detail and not a fuzzy spot of light. I'm sorry that almost fifty years of looking has produced you nothing! Really? Wow what keeps you going? Either I'm lucky to have had any sightings or your just I don't know? Perhaps your just looking for leads. Be very careful about what you find, I know how our government uses all UFO sources such as "MUFON" etc as a means of fishing out contactees', information etc

I never said I didn't believe, I just said I have never seen one. There are alot of credible people who have seen and I believe them. After my Dad left Nasa, he built an observatory in the backyard. Spent years taking moon pictures. Never said why. Dad while taking a picture of Orion through the telescope had something fly across the sky and he captured it on film. Its very strange. Then NASA came calling wanting the picture and negative. (MUFON now has the picture) All I am saying is if these people are really seeing UFO's all the time then how come they are not getting visits like my family did. By the way, two weeks after the visit from NASA, my dad suddenly died under mysterious circumstances. That's my motivation for doing what I do and I have little patience for people who have not done their homework. They usually know nothing about aircrafts, airships, space junk (millions of pieces) Satellites, balloons. Learn to calculate event horizons, distances, speeds etc.

I'm very sorry about what happened to your dad. It's another horrible truth as to what our government is hiding. My hat's off to you for bravely digging into this field after experiencing what happened to your dad. I wish you safety and may God always watch out for you. I often hear stories like this. So what ever I see etc, I would be fearful to go public and press it. I don't want to be bury with my evidence.
*Still I say find one of those people that are seeing UFOs, maybe before the government drags them off, maybe get lucky and see your first one. Never hurts to try does it? Maybe where there's smoke there's fire! Perhaps the government is writing them off just as you are? Maybe you can get to them before the government does? Hopefully before they open their mouth about something that for sure gives them away. Perhaps even save them from the fate your dad suffered from them! It's a War/Race for MUFON or the government to find these people first, right? Best Wishes to you

Since 1987 my wife and I (strange, I never realized that we were together for all of these) have seen "UFO's" on three separate occasions. The first was the sighting in 1987 which IMHO was the most interesting. This was of one of the triangular craft which flew directly over us. It was huge and left the biggest contrail I’ve ever seen. We reported this to NIDS, they wanted to send an investigator but we declined. We were interviewed over the phone and through on-line correspondence. The second sighting was last year, consisting of three orange balls of light flying in a straight line, all then faded out. Third occured about two WEEKS after the second, this was two EXTREMELY bright points of light sitting stationary in the sky about a quarter of the distance of the observable heavens between them (definetily two objects). They both went out like someone threw a switch. Both of those sightings were reported to the NUFORC. What do we think we saw? Let me continue above.
The triangular craft had air breathing engines. We could hear them although we never heard anything like that before or since. This is also supported by the contrail. I'm not even going to mention the illuminated cargo door which was partially open (yes we got a really good look). No, this was nothing extra-terrestrial, this was something built here to fly here. Conclusion: Classified man made aircraft (stealth blimp?).
Second, the orange lights? We have no idea, but we have no reason to believe they were nothing more than some lighted orange colored balloons, especially considering the way they flickered out which was sort of like a flame dying. Conclusion? Not alien, just something that looked weird and very man made.
Third, the arc lights in the sky? Absolutely no idea, but there was no indication that it HAD to be alien or paranormal in nature.
I'm proud that in all three cases we observered dispassionately. I'm also glad we saw them because they were REALLY cool.
....then of course I may have made up everything I relayed below. I could of also said that when I checked my watch after any of these sightings it was two hours later than I thought it should be. I could of said these things did things that no conventional aircraft or known satellite is capable of doing. But you know what? When other people see "light ships" and ET spaceships that are decked out with anti-collision lighting I see just a light in the sky and some sort of weird terrestrial aircraft that I couldn't ID. It's all about YOU and YOUR capacity to be a rational and objective witness. Remember, This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Grim - in my father's case, I think he took a picture of some military aircraft and the negative is missing. We now think he was trying to take a picture of Barnard's Loop but failed to get the red clouds. Meaning the color was off and therefore the color of the lights on the craft might have been off too. Possibly, with the negative we could figure out the craft's actual flight path and it may not be as remarkable as it appears on film. I'm certainly not going claim our government killed him because he took a picture of a UFO. Though his death was strange. I should know I was on the Code Team at the Hospital that coded him. That would be a giant leap I'm not prepared to make. I still say with enough time, right equipment and right personnel most UFO cases have logical non-alien explainations. At the same time, other people who I highly respect and trust have told me about their encounters/sightings and I believe them.

Thanks for telling me more about your father. Perhaps one day you will get that chance to see a real UFO. I don't think that I could truly believe if it wasn't for really seeing up close and personal. I also believe in the Bible. Certain places I believe they are describing a UFO(Ezekiel chapter 10). So I'm not at all buying into all UFOs being secret military aircraft. Some may possibly be, not all of them. UFOs have been around long before Jesus. I'm not here to convict the world. If people are to get past simply believing or dis-believing, then first they need to witness one beyond doubt as I have. Best wishes SRV, the more you try to observe the skies, the more your odds should improve(A hint! They don't like pictures or the equipment to get pictures). A little help from those that attract them might prove to be mind blowing. This is of the reasons I laugh at the UFO Hunters. They only seem to search out dead trails, not where they are and who's seeing them regularly.

I have to agree with the bird feeder explanation. Only it's probably not mesh as mentioned by someone, but rather clear plastic.
You can even see a horizontal dark line exactly where the perch would be...
