A Maryland couple outside watching a meteor shower on January 4, 2012, report watching a silent, low-flying, triangle UFO with five dim, orange lights move overhead that was visible for 20 seconds, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
"This craft made absolutely no sound," the reporting witness stated. "It was dead quiet outside and we heard nothing as this craft went by. We observed the craft for about 20 seconds as it traveled southeast until it was out of sight. Both of our reactions were we felt like it was not something of human origin. I was in almost total shock when we came back in the house, shocked that I saw something like this so close."
No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on January 4, 2012. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.
Maryland is a current UFO ALERT 4 rating, with a high than average number of UFO sightings nationally. Maryland had 14 reports in December, the 11th highest reporting state - while California had 63 reports in December 2011 - the highest reporting state in the nation.

My husband and I were outside trying to watch the quadrantid meteor shower. We saw a couple meteors go by and we were about to go back in. As i was watching the sky i saw a triangular object come into view with five dim orange lights. I yelled for my husband to look and he looked up and saw it also. This craft made absolutely no sound. It was dead quiet outside and we heard nothing as this craft went by. We observed the craft for about 20 seconds as it traveled south east until it was out of site. Both of our reactions were we felt like it was not something of human origin. I was in almost total shock when we came back in the house, shocked that i saw something like this so close.
