A Californian out taking photos on February 1, 2010, later noticed an odd object in need of an explanation, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
One friend suggested the object might be a helicopter landing pad.
The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If California MUFON investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update.
CA, February 1, 2010 - Long silver or white cigar shape with black around the edges. MUFON Case # 24719.
I was on a hike with my dad and our friends. I was just taking scenic photos of the hills with my Nikon Coolpix L18 camera.
A few minutes later I went to look at some of the pictures and this one caught my eye. It showed up yellow in the first second of viewing the image on my camera. The camera highlighed it for a second so it caught my eye and I zoomed into it.
My friends said it might have been a helicopter landing pad in the hills but none of us saw it when we looked back. I just wanted to see if you know what it is for sure. Thank you.

A Landing Pad In A Desolate Place As This ?????
Looks like a concrete block that would normally hold a radio or cell tower.
A Landing Pad Out In The Forest ???? oooooooookkkk
Whatever it is, it's not on the surface and there are protrusions around the edges. There's a very slight dome in the center and the thing must be fairly large considering the distance it is from the camera. Unknown.
Looks like a livestock water tank or an old tank of some sort...perhaps from mining. Or a roof of some dwelling?
Top of a water tank.
At first look thought I could see a spiral post of some type connecting the top to the ground, after looking a couple minutes can see there is an entire round structure underneath. Agree with Dr. Bunny: water tank.
I agree with the good Dr... it appears to be a water tank sitting next to the dirt road running directly behind it.
