A Maryland witness is reporting some odd bell-shaped objects in the sky that appeared in a photo taken April 5, according to a report filed with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.
Three of the objects were silver, the witness stated, and one was black.
The witness said he did not observe these objects with the naked eye, but only discovered them after browsing the images later.
The bell-shaped UFO account does pop up occassionally in reports, although not quite as often as disc or triangular-shaped objects. The most famous case of a bell, or acorn-shaped object, was the UFO that fell from the sky in what appeared by multiple witnesses to be a controlled landing on Dec. 9, 1965, in a wooded area in Kecksburg, PA. The Kecksburg object, as we know, was retreived by the military that same night and, with armed guards standing by, moved out of the area under a tarp on a flatbed truck.
No official analysis of that object was ever released by the U.S. government, although many ufologists have tried to get beyond the weather balloon theory.
The following is the unedited witness statement from the MUFON content management system (CMS).
This case may be under investigation by Maryland MUFON State Director Sheila C. Smith. Please remember that many UFOs can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Maryland MUFON follows up with a case report, we will give you those details here.
Maryland, April 5, 2009 - We saw 3 silver and 1 black bell like objects(right side of the Moon).
We saw 3 silver and 1 black bell like objects(right side of the Moon) in the photo taken on 5th April09.
We doubt that this could be an UFO. We want a proper person to investigate this.
We've not seen this in naked eye. We've seen this when we were browsing through our snaps.

well, I know of a few hundred differing 'bell' shapes. But triangular or cone would seem apropo.
Clear as day... Three storks carrying babies. A forth has droped it's cargo and is in a dive to retrieve it. Happens all the time.
I don't believe that these are bell shaped. If anything they are spheres (a rather ubiquitous category of UFOs that you seem to have overlooked) with some kind of atmospheric disturbance or maybe camera reflection above them. I say "If anything..." because curiously the fourth, darker, object (which also looks like a sphere to me) is not visible in the main image, although I can see no reason why it shouldn't be. What is going on here? Am I the only one who wishes that The Examiner would make available the original full size images of photographed sightings so that we could more easily make up our own minds about what they may or may not show?
Maybe it will rains chocolate eggs...

ok, these really are birds. They have black wingtips, three of them have their wings up, one has them down. It's usual to have birds in the same flap. Here in the UK gannets would look just like this flying higher or migrating as they do at this time. Got any birds that fit the bill? White body and wing, black tips and backs? Surely..
These are clearly NOT birds. Who knows what they really are, but birds they are not.

Was the photo snapped indoors? It could be a reflection of a light fixture that was in the room?

I've seen a formation of choppers appear one at a time with nothing but front lights being visible at first, and I would have initially sworn they were UFO's until they got closer. Looked much kie this. I think this is a normal military formation.
I live in Pasadena, MD. On April 5th I saw 3 helicopters fly over my house one of them was hauling a load that was suspended by a cable. I'm a beliver in UFO's I've seen a couple myself that I couldn't explain. But this picture looks to me like the helicopters I saw.

This is obviously a time lapse photograph, otherwise the photographer would not have gotten the detail he did on the object next to the moon, which is probably Venus over a period of time. Case solved. No mystery.
They were choppers carrying supplies in slings to Patuxent River Naval Air Station. You people are too freaking gullible. I helped moved the stupid things.
kinda funny because i videotaped some crazy stuff in the sky that same night...way up near the moon like these things in s.c....and they were in threes....

3 helicopters flying that close to eachother!? what an idiotic statement. and birds?! that high without coming into focus? its WAY out there, because focus is on the MOON, which means these objects are either 5 ft away (which theyre not, or youd see what they were) or theyre way way up there, which means theyre huge, because theyre still visible.
use some intelligence before laughing at people with more knowledge than you.

I assume this person was photographing the moon and not the ufos and moon. In the original photograph was the moon centered or was the photograph taken with the moon towards the right to save room for the "ufos," since the photographer supposedly didn't see these until later when examining the photos. The black object might possibly be a bird, but the other three white objects look peculiar.
It's some fuzzy dots in an image. And the fact that one can make ambiguous images like this all day--innocently or maliciously--and insert them into a "UFO" context shows how worthless they are as evidence of something extraordinary.
People have been faking "UFO" photos since the 1940s. If every sort of fuzzy dot is a "UFO" no matter what its identity, then "UFO" doesn't mean anything useful.
And this often-heard "didn't see but there it is" statement about such images has the ring of untruth about it. It's as if the author is distancing himself from any claim but is stll making a claim, when he could have just kept it to himself.

It is quite obvious that this is Chief Flying Eagle with his best warriors, Swift Hawk, Wise Owl, and LeRoy Rogers(Black Indian) are taking their flying tepees out for flight aerobatic training. An airliner runs into birds and splashes down into the Hudson and 2 days later we have a clear video of it, actually at least two videos.
Last weekend a plane flies into a helicopter some 500 feet in the air and then today a clear video of that incident appears from people that were having a nice day out on a boat.
Aliens and UFO`s have mysteriously been seen flying around for some 60 years and the best we ever get is this blurry crap taken from 100 miles away.

first of all why to people always talk like that... like a ufo is definitely aliens or something... ufo's can be anything, clearly they are ufo's:
1. you can't identify them (hence the "unidentified" part of ufo)
2. they are in the air, so they must be flying
3. and I'd say they are definitely some sort of object
so you are right they aren't ufo's at all... these are just flying objects you can't identify... haha

I just saw these the other day, November 7th, 2011. I was driving through my neighborhood and noticed the moon was 3/4 full and big. It was only about 3 PM in the afternoon and a super blue sky.
These things were just to the right of the moon and is how I noticed them. I looked around and saw a commercial jet way up there and it looked totally different. The plane was long and skinny, these things were just as the picture shows, a whitish color with some sort of greyish exhaust coming off the top.
I pulled over and got out and observed them for about 5 minutes. They were def under intelligent control and were not flying as fast as the jet but faster than a bird. After I saw it wasn't a commercial jet I thought maybe it was a group of large birds. After looking at them for a few seconds and observed their flight pattersn, they were def not birds either.
How do I know? Because they were flying on a perfectly straight line, one in front and then two trailing behind very close to each other. The two in back were flying next to each other then one would start circling around the other. It would get real close, almost as if they combined into one, then they would separate and be quite far apart. All the while keeping on a steady due west heading.
