A Michigan City, Indiana, couple driving along Highway 2 saw an unusual craft in the sky, according to witness testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.
They described the craft as having “a dark mass underneath and a bright orange/yellow bright light spuing out an aura of same.”
The husband, a recreational pilot, says the object moved along at about 70 mph and at a height of about 500 feet as it passed directly over their vehicle.
“The bottom was flutted black/gray with indentations, with a round, bright light of orange/yellow in the middle.” The silent object gained altitude and disappeared from view.
Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Indiana MUFON Director Jerry Sievers investigates and reports back on this case, I will update this page.

IN, July 1, 2009 - Michigan City, IN, July 1, 2009; bright orange/yellow light with black/grayish flutted edges, round.
July 1, 2009, going home (West) Hwy2, Michigan City, IN. Wife and husband about 8:30 p.m. (dusk) when suddenly on the outskirts of town we observed what i thought to be an ingenious 4th of July stunt.
As it became closer I realized we were seeing something truly unique.
Yes, a real UFO! The craft had a dark mass underneath and a bright orange/yellow bright light spuing out an aura of same. It continued at a steady speed approximately 70 mph at about 500 feet in height. I could not pull over so continued on as it passed directly over our vehicle. Wife put her head out of the window, looking straight up at the bottom of the craft, and saw what I have drawn, the bottom was flutted black/gray with indentations, with a round, bright light of orange/yellow in the middle and she probably got the best view of it. I then found a parking lot, pulled in, ran out and grabbed the binoculars.
The height of the craft had increased by this time to about 800 feet and I zeroed in on it. The bright, flaring light had dimmed to a ring of continuous light of the same vibrant red/orange color and distinctive black round disk-like rearend.
There was no noise. It gained in altitude to about 1500 feet and my wife said it made a slight curve (turn) but maintained speed. Just then another motorist pulled in beside us to ask- what the heck is that??!! He and his son saw it too. I watched as it disappeared out of sight, and gained more height.
There is no reasonable explanation for this sighting. It had no wings so that its slow speed would invariably send it stalling to the ground. No balloon I know of could have such a varied light show this displayed with such intensity. I am a recreational pilot, and have a good sense of height and size. The size was approximately 30 feet in diameter.

It would be nice to have photos, but this seems fairly credible. If someone witnessed a murder a person could go to jail, if you witness a ufo no one cares.
Goodwill from the Federation of star travelers. The craft you saw in Michigan was one of our scout craft from a much larger cylindrical vehicle. It was piloted by our synthetic organisms that you call the greys. Its infrared cloaking device was disengaged at the time and that is why it was seen, unfortunately. It's mission at the time was specimen gathering, abduction as you say, and because of the error in cloaking failed in its mission and was subsequently withdrawn. Many times during specimen gathering we uncloak the vehicle and proceed with the mission. The specimen gathering is completed and the subjects memories are wiped of the incident including the appearance of the vehicle, however in this incident too many humans saw the uncloaked ship. Usually, it is only the gathered specimens that see the vehicle. This is alright since their memories are wiped. These craft are electro-gravitic in nature, generally almost noiseless.

I am sick and tired of all this UFO bull. Face it people, there are NO SUCH THINGS AS UFO! In this day and age we have more telescopes, antennas and such pointed at the sky than any time in human history. More people carry around cell phones with cameras and video capability, not to mention video cameras. all this and not one single, irrefutable picture or video of a UFO or alien. We are alone. If we are not alone, chances are the universe is so vast that we will be long gone by the time anyone else finds us.

Hwy 2 doesn't come close to Michigan City.

I'm from Michigan City originally. There's no Highway 2. There is one in Laporte (county seat) 11mi east towards South Bend.
But there's no highway 2 in Michigan City. I was born & raised there. Maybe Laporte and thats 11 mi east
I saw this while up in Saugatuck, actually there were two of them during the fire works and I caught it in a timed exposure. They came over the lake as an orange fiery glow. After a few minutes they almost what appeared to have blown up and then it turned black. After watching the first one go around it then turned from black to a flash of green and then to a really dark shade of black. They probably meant Highway 12 which DOES run through Michigan City. Sure wish I would've seen it...
I and several others saw something over Diamond lake about 10:30pm on the 4th that somewhat fits this description. We took a picturen of it with our camera.
OMG people, of course UFO's exist! Even if you don't believe in aliens, anything you see flying in the sky that you can't identify; maybe b/c you don't have the greatest eyesight, or it's dark out etc... guess what?- it's a UFO!
Tired i can understand the way you feel ,i used to think the same way .I was told of a UFO sighting and i was thinking is this person crazy.BUT then me and my wife and 2 sons were at Sam Houston jones park in Mossbluff La in July 96 we were leaving late after a Bar-B-Q

camping area i looked to my right and saw a craft with bright white lights 6 sets of 5 or 6
hovering over the river that ran in front of us
it was headed straight for us we turned of the engine and rolled the windows down it hovered over the trees in front of us going east very slow it had NO SOUND at all i started to shine a 400,000 spot light on it when my wife screamed and said not too then i looked in the back seat and saw my boys and thought shes right this craft is so strange no telling what could happen i better leave it alone so we just watched it glide toward town .I believe now and if you saw one you would too.
I could count on one hand the number of UFOs I have seen, white lights zigzagging, dissapearing, etc.I also saw an orange boomerang float into a cloud in 1980. but you guys here in Michigan got the jackpot of sightings. I see stars flying north and south every single night. It's no big deal but they always do some wierd stuff. UFOs arent hiding anymore for some strange reason and for those of you who don't believe, it isnt all that big a deal whether you believe or not. Don't worry about it until you see them for yourself.

August 14, 2009. Approximately 9:45 PM. My wife, and family weres itting at the bond fire at ourcottage in Skidway Lake, MI. We observed a bright orange/yellow/red light approaching us from the south west. As object came over the top of us, it was pulsating and we noticed a round disc shape object about 500 -1000 feet in the sky. There were dark metallic lines on its under side. Object was moving approximately 70-80 mph rotating in a slow clockwise manner wise with no sound.
Ufos are Real. The Goverment is hiding the real truth about them. I am being monitored by ten UFOs every night since November. They follow me every where I go at night. This is no joke. I have pictures. I have never seen one before up until November 2009. I live in Johnson City TN.
