Several witnesses in Lake Havasu, Arizona, watched a disc-shaped object hovering and slowly moving in the sky, according to witness testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.
They first noticed a "tiny black dot" in the sky, but using binoculars, realized it was disc-shaped.
The sighting was captured on video.
The following is the unedited witness testimony from the MUFON database. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Arizona MUFON State Director George C. Parks investigates and reports back on this case, I will update this page.
AZ, July 3, 2009 - It was hovering over lake havasu. MUFON Case # 18830.
At the time I was looking out my back window when i noticed that there was this tiny black dot in the sky. So i went and got my binochlears and i swear it was a flying saucer!
At first i just couldnt believe it.
It just hovered and kept on slowly moving. I felt like the cartoon where its eyes pop out of the other end of the binochlears. It was amazing.
Eventually it was so far away i couldnt see the black dot anymore so i went inside. it was pretty cool i got it on film.

It was one of the best videos of UNIDENTIFIED flying objects I've seen since the '50's and I have seen a lot of fuzzy and out of focus photos and videos. Great camera work using frames of reference.
The only questionable thing I find in this video is that it seems to fly sideways for a long time and at some point at the end seems to be turning upside down. It would had been more believable if the clip had captured when it phased out of view. How did it do it?
If it's a hoax then hats off to them and I wish them a long and prosperous career in the film industry.The way the sunlight catches it is intriguing, but it does seem to flip over at one point, which is suspicious.Balloon might do that,CGI orR/C probably wouldn't.Perhaps a balloon would be even mpore unstable, and go with the prevailing wind.

Funny. A fairly decent UFO vid surfaces and there are still those who will invent reasons why it is a fraud. But if that UFO was the face of a deity in a partially gnawed grilled cheese sammich, they'd be bidding millions for it on ebay.

Looks like a balloon floating aimlessly to me. It has no real UFO flight characteristics that I have personally seen. I have seen a lot of UFOs and I don't believe this is a UFO at all. It's a balloon.

**** Upon closely looking at the Balloon for sale and this object floating about, they are not the same. They look very similar, but have two big distinctions. The balloon disc area is ringed with layers and the object seen floating about has a very flat disc surface area.
**** So it is not the same thing as sold on eBay.
I think we should do a lot more thinking before we fully classify this one.

Okay everyone, this is interesting, the Ebay UFO is completely round. Play the video and pause it at exactly 2:05, then enlarge the picture. The disc in the video has what looks like a sort of looped bow. Advancing to the 2:18 mark you can also see the sun reflecting off of the perimeter of the object, but not the bubbled center. That seems to suggest the two parts are potentially made of different materials. The Ebay disc is inflatable rubber, not metallic and though it may be shinny I don’t see how it could reflect the sun in that manor. Now advance to 2:44 and you can see the apparent flip the disc made co insides with the appearance of the plane in the background, as if it turned to have a better look because the looped bow is now facing the other way. If that was a stunt, it was a really good one. Conclusion: Definitely not the same object. Indeed, a good mystery!

Seems to me to be something hanging from the telephone wire. At 1:34-1:35 the focus on the object and the wires seems identical. Leads me to think they are at the exact same distance. Hard to tell unless you used a viewer that allowed slo-mo. The wires go in and out of frame quickly. Just my 2 cents. ;-)

People should compare the mondoballoon.com "UFO" closely to the video before passing judgement here. They are similar in appearance, but are absolutely not "identical". It seems unlikely that a balloon, or R/C device, would behave in the manner seen in the video. The very slow rotation/movement and apparent stability seem to eliminate the idea of a free-floating, wind-borne object. It does however seem unlikely that there would be no collaborating testimony from other witnesses in the area, as it appears to be over a well populated area. Hopefully there will be more information to come. Thank you MUFON for keeping things down to earth...
Remember, a true skeptic doesn't just jump to the easiest and most convenient conclusion. They openly and intelligently weigh the possibilities in conjunction with a thorough examination of the potential evidence for and against a topic. A true skeptic understands the importance of an open mind and does not make it a prerogative to debunk.

@dadsfiel: First by close examination, from color, to reflectivity, to the exact shape of the contrours, exactly matches the balloon model linked in question. It is as close to indentical as possible without having the "object" in question in hand, and is a matter of fact in resemblence, not conjecture.
Second, your logic is strongly objectionable, and frankly, off base. Just because my and other's analysis leads to a straighforward, and quick appraisal of the video, and object in question, does not inherently make it inaccurate. It also doesn't make one "closed-minded". Of course a proper and thorough evaluation of the available evidence, including witness statements, should be done in all cases. That such an examination should lead some to quickly conclude a hoax doesn't mean that it is brushed aside skepticism. In fact, your criticism seems to come more from the fact that the conclusions reached disagree with your own, and nothing more. So spare us the cries of "debunker" please.

@ 0:37 of 3:29 the video shows a Transformer and the UFO as a tiny spec before zooming is, the mondoballoon is 6 meters accross. Thats 19'-8 1/2" accross! I dont think that it is hanging from that power line!!! Unless that balloon is only about a 1/2" accross.
If you look at the object in the first 2:40 minutes of the video, the Sun is at the bottom right corner according to the reflections. After the plane goes by, the Sun is now on the left side. Looks to be a hoax........
Hate to burst the UFO theory ,but what you are seeing is the BUD LIGHT balloon that got away on July 3rd from the London Bridge Beach beer garden that was set up there. The wind gusted and ripped the lines away. I was in the channel that day and watched the whole thing. Don't believe me, then ask the 8 LHCPD officers along with the Gang task force that was there as well. If you had a better picture you could see the blue BUD LIGHT banner on the bottom.

I'm not really sure what you read, and what you wanted to read, in my comment. Neither did I claim that anyone was being "close-minded" nor did I say that claims of it being a hoax were "inaccurate". A few simple observations of my own, that seem to suggest that the mondoballoon theory may not be the end of the discussion is not dogmatism.
As for the balloon from mondoballoon.com; It appears to me that we don't see the multiple rings on the video object that you see on that particular balloon. This does not rule out the possibility of it being a toy at all, of course. But your assertion that "it is as close to identical as possible" seems to indicate your own understanding that the exact identification a said object must rely on, as I mentioned before, the accumulation of more information.
Witness collaboration (or lack of), and enhanced imaging may indeed show this to be a toy. Please address the nature of it's movement. Does it behave as tethered balloon would?
I'm surprised this one has run on for so long.Like CH says, it does not exhibit the flight characteristics of a UFO. UFOs usually stay horizontal.They don't drift around aimlessly, they either stay still or move purposefully, particularly in broad daylight on a clear day. They aren't dark grey.
If it's a UFO then ET was asleep at the controls.
Besides which, Sacramento Examiner has a YouTube video of a fleet of UFOs leaving the upper atmosphere for space.We've been blathering about balloons for so long they've tired of trying to get noticed and gone home! People are always saying how they see us as barely worth bothering with, did we expect them to have infinite patience?!

Bigfoot73, Hi! I have seen two UFOs titter and see-saw very slowly as if unstable, this was back on April 1st this year. They were of good size, disc shape and lots of lights that had a circle flash sequencing(Blue, Red, and White). They came in from the south and descended, hovered, then ascended, then hovered, like this a few times before leaving towards the south. 5 witnesses.
The other one I saw with three of my friends in 1981. It was round about 30 feet in diameter, mostly white with yellow-orange tint. It came in from the NE and down on a 45 degree angle stopped and zig-zagged down towards us. It stopped and hovered for a few minutes. During this time it appeared to slowly spin and it had a wobble to it.
*No UFO that I have seen floated like a balloon on wind currents, not that a UFO couldn't of course. They were not balloon like at all, they did not float about aimlessly. They were powered. I haven't seen, but I've heard of UFOs tipping on their side, but not turning over.
Hi CH! UFOs do seem to have some problem with stability.Someone described their side-to-side zig-zag descending as like that of a falling leaf.This might seem a daft thing to say, but you never see UFOs when there's a good Force 8 blowing.
Another daft point which takes me back to the half-serious point at the end of my last comment:- why do they have lights? They can't serve any purpose to them, it must be to get them noticed by us. Perhaps hanging around in the same spot with the lights on repeat cycle is as much as they feel they can do to announce their presence without bringing about massive political /social instability.
If doing this doesn't provoke a massive popular response, are they really going to carry on like this for ever?

Hi Bigfoot73, I don't think they really have a stability problem. It may just be the way anti gravity fields work in some areas. I have not seen any come down like a falling leaf. The zig zag movement of a craft I seen covered about a 1/8 a mile lengths per zig or zag at a time as it descended, but I have also seen them shoot straight up and drop straight down. I've seen them do this very fast and stop instantly. I of course have seen them do this slowly too. I don't think wind really affects them. Remember no matter how fast they go there is no sonic boom. This should imply they are slip streaming through our atmosphere. Slipping through our atmosphere without splitting air molecules apart to create a sonic boom. This also applies to water. They can dive into the water without even a splash. They can bend space time and matter as they travel. Think of UFOs as (become) light ships, at least the star like orange crafts as they appear at night. The ones I see are mostly round. white/day

I've seen the Sacramento Examiner film. Funny how noone noticed that it is shot looking down on the UFOs,hardly an everyday occurrence!! Mothman was just some flying robot thing or a hoax concocted by the teenagers who saw him.
I hope this doc. includes John Keel's story of Morse Code signalling the Ufos to go up, left,right etc. and them duly obliging. Or the 100 plus sightings of the Thunderbird. Or Woodrow Derenberger's description of Indrid Cold and his disc,undoubtedly a human in a human-built craft !!
If humans could build a disc, Mothman could be nothing more than an in-house downtime/lunchtime prank.Yet it's Mothman that gets the documentary treatment, not the discs or even the T-birds. No wonder ET has gone home!

Some people have a magnetism to draw UFOs in their direction, often to stop and pose for them long enough to be seen or photographed. We have had a number of emails by individuals who tell us that they have seen UFOs all their lives and all they need to do is wish them to appear. Some don't want this to occur and others do. We believe that it is possible that some people see in spectrum's of light that allow them to see what is always around us. We often go out at night for viewings with some of these people and find that UFO activity increases while they are with us. Some see what we can not and often we see more activity than usual while these special people are around. In any case, Some of you out there seem to be magnets for UFOs.
I'm one of those people. All my life I have been a magnet for all sorts of paranormal activity. In 1980 I have learned how to control it.

Had a visit from some friends today, who have both seen low-down orange spheres.One has had several sightings, all along the East Scotland coast.There are a lot of sightings from North and East Scotland.The air force trains it's Tornado pilots (both of them!)to chase UFos, using film of a cigar shaped craft over the North Sea.
Hi Bigfoot73, I think if Mr. Bigelow were serious in wanting UFO data, why wouldn't he get as many people as possible together that has had lots of sightings? People that draw or attract UFOs could all get together and it should increase everyone's abilities. I would be willing to get paid per UFO sighting. If no UFOs I don't get paid. Later Mr. Bigelow might want to workout a lesser contact for me and others like me, hahahaha. Why? Because from Feb.27th, 2009 till today; I have logged 92 UFOs. That's the ones I have logged. There was a few that I didn't log, I forgot to log some, not many. If I wasn't sure if it was an unknown or not I did not log it at all and was dismissed.
Mr. Bigelow (We) could also run a few tests to compare our likenesses/differences etc. Then compare how we may differ with people that do not see UFOs. I know for one my blood structure has extra cell structures, as to military findings. A complete new unknown blood structure ever recorded before 1981.
Hi Bigfoot73, your friends have had sightings! That's great! See you have UFOs in and around/near you! You should be out sky gazing with a good pair of 10x50 binoculars. Get a pair with a field 8 which is 420sq. feet at 1,000 yards. Bushnell a division of Bausch & Lomb made a pair called: Explorer II, they are a Insta-Focus type. Prism type of Bak-4 Porro. They are excellent binoculars. You could check on e-Bay regularly until you find some good ones for cheap. Remember the larger field of view the more area of the sky you will see, plus more light for low light conditions, also easier to locate a moving object faster etc. Also get binoculars with a tripod adapter socket.

CH and Bigfoot; Regarding Mr. Bigelow. I'm limited to what I will say in a public forum. I met him several weeks ago. I found him to be very astute and very knowledgeable regarding UFO issues. Regarding the question why does he not do this and that - who says he is not. He is doing (behind the scene) alot more than people realize.
srv :- did Mr Bigelow divulge exactly what he is getting up to behind the scenes? Why is he not doing anything with ordinary ground level ufological talent like CH?
His proposal for a MUFON A-Team sounds like a branch of Bigelow Inc. grafted on to MUFON but retaining autonomy from it.
He could do as much for ufology just by handing out a couple of million dollars worth of cameras and some thermal imaging kit.Oh and maybe trapping allnewsweb in some financially draining court case or something, whatever it takes to get it off our screens.
Bigfoot: You are thinking too small. I'm really limited to what I can say. The truth will blow your socks off. But I will say this, there is a small group of ufologists studying a particular case. This happens to be a very good case by the way. I was sitting next to Bigelow during their hour lecture. After the lecture, Bigelow went and spoke to the group members. They all left together (I presumed lunch) and I saw them all come back together 4 hrs later. When I asked one of the members the next day if Bigelow was going to help them, he declined to say, but just smiled.
Bigfoot & SRV: Our government would not for a moment let Mr. Bigelow keep or have an Alien craft or artifact of any value. In the act of national security they would seize everything! They might let him off the hook once, but if he repeated it... Our government would have him thinking much smaller. Like a nice 8' by 10' foot jail cell. He would be considered a danger to national security and would be dealt with accordingly. If anyone had an alien craft every government etc would want it's secrets. Our government would not want any information like that to end up in another countries hands. Again if he's not a government ruse, then what ever amount of time and money spent on alien technology can never reach the market. UFOs are Top secret, this is classified stuff! Try making a nuclear power plant for your own private use and see what happens and it's nothing like as secret as alien technology. Lets say aliens land in your back yard and sell you one of their space crafts. You get a bill of sale and make it all a legal purchase. Guess who will come to take your alien craft! Government! They will seize it and say in the interest of national security we have to seize it. Under the act of national security they can do anything they want, anything! A much as I would love Mr. Bigelow to be successful, it will never happen.
