UFO Hunters fans urge History Channel to keep show

Bill Birnes UFO Hunters History ChannelAccording to UFO Magazine, “There is no official word yet, but there is a chance that UFO Hunters may be canceled and not return for season 4.”  In response to concerns of cancellation, UFO Hunters fans have been signing an online petition to urge the History Channel to keep the show. The fans do not want UFO Hunters to end up in the same ‘black hole’ where other popular thought-provoking programs have met an untimely death.
The reason for possible termination of the show is not clear. The show’s star, Bill Birnes, said:
UFO Hunters had some of the top-rated episodes in the history of the History Channel.
Is there a sinister element behind the possible cancellation? The MISSING TIMES: News Media Complicity in the UFO Cover-up, a book by Terry Hansen, reveals disturbing facts about the U.S. government’s influence in the media regarding UFOs. It is well known that for decades the CIA has extensively controlled what the media has said about UFOs and extraterrestrial beings visiting Earth.
The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media."  - William Colby (1920-1996), former Director of the CIA,
It is obviously not a lack of interest in UFOs that would cause the History Channel to cancel UFO Hunters. The topic remains hot in both the mainstream and independent news media. Just this week, one of the biggest news stories was “Russian Scientist: UFO collided with Tunguska Meteorite to save Earth”.  Many people would think such an event was historically important, especially since it allegedly happened over 100 years ago.
Also this week, Rick Barber, a popular late night talk show host at 850 KOA radio in metro Denver, Colorado, posted a poll about extraterrestrial beings. He asked:
“Do you think there is other intelligent life in the universe?”
The optional answers were:
  • Yes. I have not only seen aliens, I'm an abductee.
  • Yes. It seems logical. If not, it's a waste of space.
  • Yes. I have seen a UFO.
  • Yes. They're out there but I doubt they have visited us.
  • No. It seems like science fiction to me.
  • Definitely not! God made man the only intelligent life around.
Results? As of this writing, over 92% of respondents have voted for one of the “Yes” categories. Barber’s poll is likely to get most of its votes from his audience of paranormal and UFO enthusiasts. But the results are similar to scientific and news media polls taken for decades from the general population. The number of believers in UFOs has only increased over the years.
Maybe the History Channel executives are not oriented to seeing farther into the future than yesterday. Or maybe they are cooking up something better and keeping it secret for now. But if you think that UFO Hunters is worth saving, you can still sign the online petition. And while you’re at it, vote in the Rick Barber poll and see the breakdown of some surprising results.
One year ago today, a press conference held by the EXTRA Campaign to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission through a Denver ballot initiative, resulted in a world-wide media sensation by showing the Stan Romanek "alien-in-the-window" video. The ballot initiative is expected to go before Denver voters in the coming year. When that happens, the History Channel would be smart to have a familiar show on hand to meet public demand for more information on the issue.

Thank you for this article I got it in my inbox today and my heart almost dropped I love UFO Hunters and I have seen every show faithfully and it actually helped me with several things, funny thing is not to long ago I had an odd feeling that the show was going to be taken off. Now it is time to focus on seeing more shows on season 4 since thoughts create reality.

BTW I think what your doing with the Denver initiative is honorable....may you always be safe.

I agree, very happy you wrote about this and COULD NOT believe that they might actually cancel this show. You need to get the word out more. I will Tweet this and post it on my FB account as well.

I could not believe this show has stayed on the History channel as long as it has. I'm happy the channel is finally cleaning house in response to viewer concern that it has lost its focus on history, and given too much attention into things like Nostradamus and aliens, which these days deal very little with their history, and more with 2012 and the future. Let's leave topics like that to the scifi channel.

Also beware how polls can be misused, especially when a link to them is not provided. The answer was 92% yes? Well, if most of those were "They're out there but I doubt they have visited us.", that doesn't have anything to do with UFOs, and yet, the 92% number is used here to somehow justify the History Channel UFO show.

And of course my favorite quote: "Is there a sinister element behind the possible cancellation?". It would not be canceled if it had decent viewers (and revenue). No need to read some nefarious scenario into simple loss of interest by the public.

I can't believe they are considering canceling this show. I'm a huge skeptic, but UFO Hunters is interesting, entertaining and even educational. I've learned quite a bit about past UFO incidents that I never knew existed.

well, I for one have mixed feelings about a possible cancellation. On the one hand, "UFO Hunters" provided a service in that, on occasion, well-documented, classic UFO cases were presented and sometimes analyzed in interesting ways. On the other hand, this was often outweighed by credulous nonsense and a sheer lack of critical thinking, particularly in the case of "Bill"--who is interested in pumping up interest for his magazine. Is there any crazy idea he won't believe in? The absence of real, unbiased opinion to counter balance the silliness ultimately sank this boat for me. Which is too bad because there really is something to the UFO phenomena, but we will never find out what that is when a show like this loses its objective rudder.

I am amused when I look at humans reactions to truths. If they are big they deny, if they are small they hide them. UFO Hunters is not perfect in its presentations but in my book they get an A+ for having the guts to speak about one of the most profound truths humans have ever denied; That humans are not alone within trillions of galaxies. They are in fact part of a larger family of life forms(I hesitate using the word 'advanced'). This truth is actually a fundamental human beings 'right to know'. Both the 'State'(corrupt invisible elite power brokers) and Religions(one of the greatest tools for keeping humans 'deaf and dumb'), benefit by keeping this sacred right secret. Bill is 'guilty' as charges because he dared to state the obvious - Humans are related to incredible diverse and advanced life forms - but the 'State' and Humans 'religions' work together to keep this 'above top secret'.

I think The History Channey might be correct. As much as I learned and enjoyed UFO Hunters, their previous program, UFO Files was much better. However, there are really only a handful of credible cases, and both shows covered them thoroughly... I just think there's not enough bonafide "serious" cases left to investigate.

The Powers That Be (blackmailed and influenced by anti-human Globalist interests) don't want us to know to what extent ETs are interfering in our lives. They want to give ETs free reign over humanity, as objects of experiment, cattle and a source of Soul Light. This is impossible to allow.

I agree that the show needs to be put out of it's misery. It started out great but Bill dragged it down with all his ridiculous theories. A common sense scientific approach is both entertaining and shows that people who are interested in the UFO mystery are not a bunch of wackos. Bill has done more to set back serious UFO study than any government agency could even dream of!

UFO Hunters is much better than UFO Files, which was ok but always included the obligatory "debunking" that plagues almost every ufo related show on the mainstream media. I hope they keep UFO Hunters on the air. It keeps me watching every week, and frankly is the only thing on History Channel that holds my interest.

The UFO-topic is simply worn out. Nothing breathtaking happened for a while - and I don't think, something will happen within the next centuries. So ET/UFO/conspiracytainment industry can only recycle old stories, over and over again. No new knowledge is gained or aquired, but dangerous cult-like structures are established within our society. With dire consequences, like the Heavens-Gate mass suicide incident. So it was high time, CIA took again its leadership-role within the media and consequently shut down one UFOtainment-show after the other: First the plug for CNN's UFO-shows was plugged in 2008, now History Channel's UFOtainment-show was set offline and I guess, SciFi's cooperation with MUFON will be the next production in that list. I guess, it will take us a decade, until people will have been cured from the ufo/exologigcal swine flu pandemy, so the whole topic will fade off the public radar as time goes by - and die its deserved death.

Small minded and fearful people won't latch onto the possibility of life visting Earth in the here and now. Our ancestors once thought that only the gods can fly. We are not gods, but we fly. There are ignorant and naysayers in every generation of man yet we progress and prove the fools more foolish. Gallieo was thought to be a crock and he'd never been to outer space. Yet his work prevailed and we now know the truth.

God is limitless. He created the universe, our world, and us. There's no limit to what He can do. Don't let a brain you only use 10% of limit His power. . . whether you believe or not. Just because you can't handle it, doesn't mean He won't do it!

Man, all the hate filled comments. If you guy's think UFO Hunters is bad, then turn the channel to big brother, amazing race or some other BUNK reality show, and stop hassling the fans of the truth! Really, this is the best program on the tube! Yeah Bill Burns is a little out there at times, but the other two guy's keep the show grounded and interesting. If all the sightings since the beginning of time are bunk, then I suppose you have an argument for cancellation. BUT all it takes is for ONE encounter to be ET related, then what? Wouldn't you like to find out? Could you pull your head out of your a~~ and LEARN something?

Sure, some of the shows were silly as when it was implied that gold attracts UFO's. But the Cash-Landrum story was the BEST UFO case I have ever seen--and that wasn't an extraterrestrial craft, but a military one. What a great show that was with the doctor telling how the Houston hospital stonewalled his request for Cash's medical files! That was a story that needed to be told--and UFO Hunters was the one that told it, with Colby telling his version for the first time. It's a great loss that there will be no more stories like that one....

The History Channel's "UFO Hunters" is a investigation that looks for the truth, like any court case truth is evaluated on evidence.
Without evidence the case is weak. And yes there are a lot of crackpots who try to destroy
a good thing & then there is those in the government that definitely don't want you to know the truth. I can tell you from experience
that extrateristrials are real! I have passed
every test given by some of the top authorities in the world & have waited 34 yrs to reveal all the truth mostly because of the

How small your minds and how immense the universe, if you believe that we are all there is! It is exactly the deception that military and government officials hope we will all fall for. That we are not intelligent enough as the general public, to wrap our minds around the knowledge of the truth about all of this, but that we will blindly follow our leaders misinformation to make us feel calm and safe! What the government and our officials don't quite comprehend , is that not all of us are willing to swallow their explanations where our futures are concerned!
