Anheuser-Busch has teamed up with the UC Riverside Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and chosen volleyball player Kelly Simpson as the September recipient of the "Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sport of the Month." The outside hitter from Modesto, CA led the team with 33 kills, 3.00 kills per set, 32 digs, and 2.91 digs per set while playing in all 11 sets for the Highlanders in their opening tournament at the Fresno State Classic.
On Aug. 27, Simpson recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs against the host Fresno State Bulldogs. She followed up that performance with a career-high 17 kills and tied her career-high with 12 digs against Santa Clara on Aug. 28.
