For U2’s die-hard fans that are hungry for another album of original material or to hear them live again when “360” starts back up in June, a new remix record is coming out to keep their appetites intact for now.
“Artificial Horizon”, is the latest collection of music from the band that will only be given to subscribers of U2.com. The limited-edition disc contains an assortment of remixes of U2 songs that will surely make you want to break out a bongo drum and imitate Larry’s “Crazy” remix skills from the tour last year!
Some tracks that will be on the album include the Influx Mix of “Elevation”, a “Beautiful Day” remix from David Holmes, Trent Reznor’s idea of “Vertigo”, and the Monster Truck remix of “Staring at the Sun”. The remix of “Crazy” from the tour will also be on the record.
I found out about this from the U2 page on Facebook this morning and I thought it was so funny because the way they wrote about it sounded like an infomercial! It said “If you thought the U2 360 remix of I’ll Go Crazy Tonight was going to bring the house down, wait till you hear other exclusive, and previously unreleased songs on this album”. I was hoping to read, “And wait! There’s more!” at the end of it, thinking you get like a bonus Bono bobblehead doll as an additional gift!
All kidding aside, if you’re already a U2.com subscriber (like me), it should be shipping soon because I’ve been waiting for this new record since I renewed my membership. I always love the CDs that U2.com gives out because it’s stuff that becomes so addicting.
My paper case that the live “Vertigo” tour CD came in is so tattered because I’ve played that album out to death. It’s mostly because of “The Fly” live version! I live in my Slane Castle homecoming tour shirt that was another subscriber gift, and the concert’s 2 CD set it came with has already received plenty of stereo play in my car (thanks to “Out of Control”).

And because I can never get enough of it, the awesome Larry and a bongo drum during the "Crazy" remix. And this video rocks simply because of the very short intro of Larry walking to the stage before the show starts. Crisp white shirt and cool attitude firmly in check!
