Actress Brittany Murphy died this morning due to cardiac arrest. There is no toxicology report yet, so no one knows exactly what caused her death. Paramedics were called to her LA house Sunday morning, but could not revive the actress. She was pronounced dead after paramedics administered CPR, to no avail. She was only 32 years old.
Murphy's mother found her unconscious in the shower this morning and called paramedics. The family has released this statement to the press regarding her death: "In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy."
Twitter blew up after the news of her death came to light. One friend of Murphy's, Ashton Kutcher, tweeted his thoughts. "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon. see you on the other side kid." (aplusk)
Some other celebrities took to their Twitter accounts to write about Brittany Murphy. Soleil Moon Frye (better known as Punky Brewster) tweeted "RIP sweet Brittany. I will never forget the beautiful school girl you were and woman you became." (moonfrye)
John McCain's daughter Megan also tweeted about Murphy's death. "something about Brittany Murphy's death is so unbelievably tragic, she was gorgeous, talented and only 32. fame can really eat people up and spit them out. and it seems particularly harsh towards women. Finally, a tweet from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton: "Hollywood loses another bright soul....how many more? A decade of decadence and devastation. Time to wake up." (perezhilton)

Where did you find a definitive source about her death being the result of a drug overdose? They haven't even done a toxicology report or an autopsy yet. This is poor reporting.
Funny, CBS is reporting that the medical examiner said her death appears to be from natural causes. Where did you get drug overdose from?
I loved her in Clueless and her later work. It's so sad. I was shocked when I heard it.

At 32 in Hollywood, come on, anything could happen. You know, cardiac arrest do not happen just like that. Let me guess: some type of fuel which accelerates your heart so fast that it just suddenly stops... irreversible... call it cocaine, or something like that(pretty close)

TCG - Maybe so, but her mom said she had a history of diabetes, and people shouldn't be reporting this crap as fact until it's known for sure what caused her death. Don't just assume it's drugs and if you know it was, then provide a credible source.
This is such a sad and tragic thing to happen to happen to such a beautiful woman..may God keep her in his peace, and her family find comfort.
How does a 32 year old women who is not over weight die of a heart attack? Drugs... thats the only explanation.

All I can say is RIP. You will be loved and missed. My heart goes out to this young woman's family. It is not easy to lose someone that you love, but to have them slandered that very same day is intolerable... so sad.
People die at young ages all the time of cardiac arrest. Does not mean it was drugs because so young.

Hello I myself at a early age had cardiac arrest at the age of 29. THe Doctor said that it is one of the worsed one he has ever see. I can relate to so many ways with family. I feel somewhat better teeling my story. The first thing that people wanted to point at me is that I was abusing drugs which I wasn't. It just came on. I thank you for letter me share out some of my feels. I am sorry to the Brittney family.

Too young. I remember her from the movie Uptown girls, I wasn't sure of her name when my aunt came in and told me that it had happened, but she was the first woman that came to my mind. So sad!
No---A healthy person can have sudden cardiac death due to a cardiac arrhythmia----which occurs for no apparent reason. Let's not jump to conclusions about this sad event.

I am deeply sad for the loss of Britanny Murphy. She was one of my favorite actress's since Clueless and I am stunned to hear of this tragic news. It is unbelievable.

Nice how they have no idea what happened to her! They are assuming it was a drug overdose but obviously have no clue. This site should not be reporting that that is what caused her death. I hope her family sues the s*** out of them and whoever else wants to jump to conclusions! Say it was an overdose? What then? What if it was an accidental overdose? What if she was prescribed pain killers for some reason and they screwed with her heart? What if she did take them illegally and died? Who are you, smart a**, to judge anyone? How about you keep your mouth shut! I'm sure ssyour mother and father are proud of the person you came to be! Whatever the cause of death, the world lost a bright young woman with Brittany's death. She always had a beautiful smile on her face. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, close friends and legends of fans. You will be missed, but we will meet again.

How often does a healthy, 32 year old woman, suddenly die from cardiac arrest. Taking medication is a personal choice. I don't think anyone making comments on this site personally knew Brittany Murphy. Whatever has been said, positive/negative, has been said with regards to an image. Everyone gets a turn to kick it. Tripping balls to death, naked in the bathroom of a stellar house in LA is not a bad way to go. ^^
