A Million High Fives (#AMHF) using The Great Wall of Twitter to benefit homeless shelters

Brandon Mendelson

A Million High Fives (#AMHF) wants to leverage social media and Twitter specifically to move the world to collect items for their local homeless shelter.

AMHF's goal is to prove to skeptics that social networking is more than just blah-blah-blah about mundane and unimportant details of living or work.

A Million High Fives has the lofty goal of making a documentary, using real-time photos, video streams and audio updates, and if all goes according to plan, getting the movie into theaters.

The brain behind A Million High Fives is Brandon Mendelson @BJMendelson.

Part of the success of the project is crowdfunding "The Great Wall of Twitter."

We are asking 100,000 of the 800,000 people following @BJMendelson to contribute a $1 and build "The Great Wall Of Twitter". You can purchase your spot on the wall here.
Other plans from Mendelson include
  • Mass volunteer Tweet-ups to bring volunteers, food, supplies, and laptops to those in need.
  •  equip the staff to improve their online presence to better facilitate donations and provide those at the shelter with outlets to communicate with their family and the world.

Brandon Mendelson is projecting that he will reach over a million Twitter followers as #AMHF trends higher. Mendelson has issued a challenge to Ashton Kutcher as the #1 most followed on Twitter (not counting network programs, ie: Ellen or Oprah or CNN)
