Twi-mom fans go to see a vampire and leave loving some monkeys

On a weeknight, with little to talk about by way of Eclipse, a Twi-mom and her friends jumped at the chance to see 100 Monkeys in concert. They expected a decent show and a sighting of Jackson Rathbone. Their expectations were voraciously exceeded-- and then some. This is their story- not from a promoter or someone grounded in the Twilight/actor/music world. This is the lowdown of the 100 Monkeys concert as told by fans:

Caprice:

The show was held at The Dome, a small club that was equipped with a bar and stripper pole. They also have cage fighting there, I heard.

The opening band was The Greener the Better-not so good. A bit loud and screamy for my taste. But they only played five or six songs.

100 Monkeys came on just before 9:00. Jackson wore a hat with little glasses, a Thriller t-shirt and bandana around his neck. His hair was pulled back in a ponytail, and he had a beard. He also had a pretty nice shiner that he said he "fell on his guitar"

Jared was in a shirt with a thin tie and mohawk. The others were just wearing t-shirts and jeans. The taller Ben wore a Wisconsin hoodie that was left on stage and later taken by a young girl.

Jackson played to the girls in the audience immediately, flashing sultry smiles throughout the songs-- the crowd erupting in cheers each time. After almost every song, the members would casually switch instruments from bongos, clarinet, trumpet, bass, guitar, drums, etc. Each of them took a turn on almost all the instruments, including singing lead.

They played for a while, took a ten minute break, and then returned for a few more songs. During the break, we bought t-shirts. Throughout the concert, the Bananger was dancing around in and with the crowd. He was charming.

After the concert, after the majority of the crowd had left, the band came out to talk, sign autographs, and take pictures. Ben, Ben, and Jared were so gracious. They seemed so sincere in thanking us for coming-- not put out or bugged about taking pictures or autographs. Uncle Larry was very nice as well, and interested in seeing the picture once it was taken. Funny!

Jackson had entered a side area of the stage when we approached him; he too graciously signed our shirts and posed for a picture before being whisked away by the Bananger, Marty. I asked about his eye while he was signing our shirts.

Final thought from Caprice: We went to see a vampire but left loving us some monkeys!

Maritza:

As a self proclaimed fanatic, I jumped at the opportunity to see Jasper, I mean Jackson perform. I knew nothing about his music or career outside the Twilight world before their show. I was floored by not only Jackson's musical talent but by the band as a whole. It was incredible to see them rotate instruments with such ease. Having paid homage to their outstanding musical ability let me just say, they are one attractive bunch of monkeys! Their combination of their quirky lyrics and animated performance left me wanting more monkeys!

Fans can get a free MP3 download of the song "keep awake" from the website.
