Yesterday, new pictures of Rob emerged during filming of his new role, Remember Me. As expected, women flocked to try and catch a glimpse of Rob. Jenny and Snarky from Twitarded spoke of Jenny's adventure, captured a picture (below) and mentions that a mere 20 women or so were gawking at Rob solely from afar:
It all started because STY kept sending me emails urging me to go down and check out the filming. At first I said no because it was a whopping 10 blocks from my office and I'm astonishingly lazy. But that b*%ch is relentless so I agreed to go.
But then things got a little... squiffy.
Reports start filtering in that poor RPattz got fan-fondled (or assaulted, if we want to get technical) - EW! Bodyguards, pay attention!! No wonder he's so paranoid... I could have done a better job of keeping chicks from hanging all over him.
A couple dozen women lurking in the shadows quickly turned to crazed fan-women encroaching upon Rob's personal space. Jenny left in disgust. With a lack of proper supervision from much-needed bodyguards for Rob, chaos ensued. To the point of ridiculousness. The slideshow below demonstrates the rabidness of fans trying desperately to get close enough to Rob to snap a picture.
What embarrasses me the most is the fact that these women are not teens gone wild. They are old enough to know better, old enough to control their behavior. Old enough to be moms of kids wanting to get close to Rob.
Eyes of Amber, along with other mature bloggers, have teamed together to protest the actions of the fans. Amber writes:
It never ceases to amaze me how gracious Rob is in every situation, but the hands in his hair at the end just demonstrate how totally freaked out he is. I propose we form a group of mature Twilighters to guard him. This mess would never happen again. Never. I am sad to say this may be the last movie we ever see Rob in that has open sets. Apparently, it just isn't safe for him. These few very rotten apples may have spoiled it for the whole bunch.
I beg of you, mature Twilighters, talk to your kids. Talk to each other. Comment on blogs or Facebook or forums about your obsession with Rob. But please, don’t actually assault him.

Please everyone please respect Robert's personal space. This has the potential to drive him away. We would like to see him do more american movies and maybe music. He has a right to live a normal life just like you and me. Please don't take that away from him please. If you see him and feel you are about to loose it, take some deep breaths and a walk if necessary. Don't restrict his life anymore than it is already. If you like him, show him proper respect please. If you want to see him do more movies here in america, allow him some room. Allow him some privacy. Allow him to walk down the street without taking pictures or mobbing him. Allow him to sit in a restaurant undisturbed. Allow him to give you permission to approach him for an autograph. Allow him to explore more of what this country has to offer him without screams. Allow him to have a normal life just like you and me. Doesn't he deserve that much? Allow him to have peace of mind without paranoia.

This makes me sick! He is WORKING. Leave him alone to do his job. If I were in his shoes I would be suicidal.
When celebrities have 10 bodyguards, people call them diva's or say that they are full of themselves, but in reality, protection is seriously needed to protect them from over-enthusiastic fans.
Well said girls. Oh, I really feel for him, poor guy. It's as if he wasn't a real person with real feelings. I wonder how those crazy women would feel if a flock of crazy hormonal men started grabing them from all sides! This is unfortunately a very scary reality for Rob and I do pity him. I hope the message to leave him alone gets through to all of his fervent fans, but with millions of them being so obsessed about him, what are the chances that it does? Rob, you need your bodyguards at all times now, we wouldn't want you to get hurt!
this just makes me laugh .... he doesnt have any bodyguards .. the girl in the first pic is giving him the stranggel hold i dont get it i mean he gorgeous yes we know but i wouldnt go this far for any celebrity . haha in his head he probably saying this is so weird no one wanted me before i was a celeb and now they do.. i do commence him for this he doesnt get easily frustrated .
How frustrating it must be to never have a quiet moment to walk and think. To think that every move, good or bad, is being captured my someone's all seeing camera lens. I empathize with Rob and wish him only the best success in dealing with the frustrations and limitations of his current status.
Where the hell were his body guards? It only takes a minute for some crazy fan to really hurt him. There should be hell to pay for this! Rob is always gracious and a gentleman, that's more than I can say about those women. How embarrassing for those of us that respect him. I hope the women in the photos are embarrassed by their actions. Totally disgusting.
Ok, being a "mature" fan (lol) I can honestly say I feel really bad for him. I don't know how he hasn't come forward to say these fans are all NUTS! He is a person.....not anyone's personal grabbing post. I am sure he doesn't appreciate having his hair and body groped on, would you? He shouldn't HAVE to have 20 body guards to keep him safe, people should just get a clue! I personally think he is a pretty good actor and musician, on top of being quite handsome. However, I would NOT attack the poor guy! Show a little restraint and respect people!
What shocks me most about this is that those aren't some 14-year-old hormon driven teenage girls. Those are adult women! How can they just jump a stranger in the street? What sort of reaction did they think Rob would have to this? Soon he'll turn and run from any group of female fans he sees and then the same fans will have the nerve to complain about him being full of himself. Well if being nice gets him molested and being totally disrespected, I guess he can live with being an a**.
It's so sad that not even his adult fans can show enough respect so that he doesn't need a horde of 10 bodyguards around him.
I am utterly amazed how peoplehave no respect for this man. He has got to be more than frustrated with this whole situation. I wouldn't blame the guy if he called his agent backed out of his contracts and headed back home to England. I wonder if these out of control females would think about for a moment how they would feel if 20 complete strangers suddenly attaacked them, camera's in face, people grabbing and holding on to you laughing and screaming the whole time. You would be scared to death and be running for your life. I myself am in my 20's and have a celebrity crush on Rob...But I find it really disgusting at the way people are treating him. He is a person,he deserves privacy, and most of all he deserves to be able to go out in public without being molested by a bunch of horomone ravaged freaks! Seriously, have some respect!
I thought I couldnt be more disgusted by the site of the pics of the paparazzi swarming around him like vultures at the airport a couple of weeks ago, that was bad enough. But this is just as, if not more disgusting! If these women were really fans of Robert they'd realise he was already hounded enough as it was and give the poor bloke some privacy, particuarly whilst he's working!! Maybe he should come back home to Britain for a bit, spend some time with his family, have a pint with his mates and get away from the craziness for a while. This poor guy. I really feel for him. These so called fans, should show some pride in themselves and figure out how ignorant and stupid they look to this young man. I have heard it all that he is gracious and respectful to these raging lunitics. But enough is enough!!! He is a person, just like you and me. He has feelings and I am sure that he is just in shock over all of this. You crazy fans have to realize he is only 23 years old. Let him live and be a regular guy. o.k. I know people get excited about stars and Rob is hot right now, but show some respect. If you want Rob to notice you screaming his name and hanging on him isn't going to do it. I met Rob in Vancouver while he was filming New Moon and as i waited patiently for him t make his way to me. I was rather amazed at how people threw themselves at him. when he finally made his way to me I handed him my twilight book and asked him how things were going. he stopped signing my book looked up at me and smiled that crooked smile we all love so much and said I'm hanging in there and thank you so much for asking. He seemed pleased someone actually asked him how HE was doing. oh and by the way he is far more beautiful in the flesh.
I agree with all these posts I was digusted with the behavior of these so called ladies come on people learn respect go back to grammar school they teach you all about personal space and how to be polite it's moments like these that I'm ashamed to say I'm a Rob fan because I don't want to be associated with people like these
This Twilight obsession that everybody has is getting old. And it's embarrassing. I genuinely feel embarrassed for those women. Yeah, I'm a fan of Twilight, and yeah, Robert Pattinson is attractive. But, holy crap. Get ahold of yourselves. Take a break from obsessing over Twilight, it may be healthy for you.
This is so disturbing. If I were him I would be afraid to go outside. I understand that people are excited and it's fun to see your favorite star but boundaries need to be respected. This should not be a price for fame. Absolutely disgraceful. Have some self control and respect.
Wow, I feel so bad for Robert. I am a "Twilight Mom" and I would never condone this behavior. I have met a few celebs and NEVER jumped them to say hi. Come on people, show some respect!!!
The Twitards did such a respectful job yesterday. Truly truly I loved their post and the pictures they took. And Eyes of Amber is BRILLIANT! They are both two excellent blogs who we can all look up too.

I feel very upset for you that you have been treated this way during your visit in NYC. Please know that there are fans here in NYC that love and respect you and would never disrespect you that way.

For the love of God - what is wrong with those girls! It made me feel physically sick to see that happen to a person, especially someone as nice as Robert. I really feel for the dude. That's def not nice. Thank goodness for those body guards. This has got way out of hand now and I'm surprised that the ROB-OBSESSION hasn't died down yet. He's just a human being who deserves some peace and he should be able to walk down the street without getting molested by crazed fans. Guys give him a bit of a break coz if you don't, you may lose him forever - he'll either explode and go completely of the rails or he'll go into hiding and be a hermit forever. What self-respecting grown woman behaves this way? Are they mentally ill, completely drunk or some combination thereof? Sure, he's hot, but try Googling him to look at his beautiful face rather than hunting him down and treating him like an animal. He's an actual person with actual feelings. The actions of these women only serve to diminish his humanity. I am sure he's not flattered by this type of attention and would consider anyone willing to go to these lengths to be a total freak.
