Twilight fan Laura, and author of the blog, "His Crooked Smiles," had an unforgettable experience in London last night where she and some friends went to a Darling Buds concert. She knew she would see lead singer Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays "Caius" in New Moon; little did she know she would become so intimate with him and a water bottle. Here's a snippet of her encounter:
We saw Jamie walking around the bar before the show, being low-key just chatting with friends as well as his mum who was there too – she was obviously really proud of him and they looked very close!
We made our way in to get a good view – it was much more crowded than when I’d seen them play about a month ago (not surprisingly before Jamie went to Vancouver to shoot New Moon!) – they’re obviously going to be doing well thanks to the new attention, on top of how talented they are! .JPG)
After a couple of songs, he asked if anyone had something he could drink since his throat was really dry, so I handed him my water bottle (I was standing so close and no one else was offering). He said something to the effect of “thank you – sorry, that’s really gross of me isn’t it?” to which I joked “are you suggesting I’m gross?!” and he said “nono, you’re gorgeous for lending me your drink” (random use of the word “gorgeous” much, anyone?!) as he handed it back, but I said “I can’t take it now – everyone here will think I’m weird for wanting it back” and he replied “nono, I don’t think you’re weird – please, it’s yours” by which time the drummer, Dan was like “I’ll have it!” – it was all very amusing!
They were getting really into the songs and Jamie came right up to the very front edge of the stage and leaned into the crowd for some of his guitar solos (and a great photo op!) and for the last song, he was singing out-loud and playing on his knees, just going with it and ended up finishing the set by jamming on his back, writhing around and really into the music!
